We are fascinated by the idea of pleasing other people; expecting them to accept us for who we pretend to be.We diligently change who we are and what we stand for to fit into other people's standards of life. The scars this leaves on us are invisible to the human eye, but cause so much pain to the person. The invention of being and belonging infused with the mix of human emotions. We pacify ourselves into believing that we are never enough. We stray from who we once were to who we imagine ourselves to be for other people. We believe ourselves to be auspicious if we fit the standards of life. However, we are just cutting our souls deeper and deeper, a curse we can’t reverse.
