"I don't know if Bay and Kai will like me..." frowned Heliodor as he walked with Quartz. The two were heading into the heart of Splatsville. "You worry too much, it's not good for you." replied Quartz. "It'd be weird if they didn't want to befriend you..."

"OVER HERE!" called Bay as soon as he saw them. Heliodor jumped in fear and clung to Quartz's side. Bay and Kai quickly noticed this and began eyeing the pastel pink octoling up and down skeptically. "Who's this?"

"This is my friend Heliodor, it's a long story." answered Quartz. "What a nice name." smiled Kai, though his usual sweet smile was replaced with a passive-aggressive grin. "You really like my boyfriend, don't you?"

Bay gave Heliodor a slightly aggressive pat on the head. "What's so special about Quartz's side that makes you wanna cling to it so badly?!" The pastel pink octoling tried to hide behind Quartz, hoping they'd leave him alone. "W-Why are you so mean to me?"

Kai suddenly pulled Quartz away from him. "What's with you and Quartz?" asked Bay, giving Heliodor an intimidating look. Tears began to fall from the pastel pink octoling's face. "I-I'm-"

"Shut up, you two." growled Quartz. "He's been through a lot, so leave him alone."

Bay gritted his teeth. "How long have you known him?"

"Since last night." answered Quartz, looking at him just as angrily.

"Then why is he so close to you? Why didn't you tell us about him?" asked Bay, lowly.

"MAYBE IF YOU TWO DIDN'T INSTANTLY JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS THE MOMENT WE GOT HERE, I WOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO EXPLAIN MYSELF." yelled Quartz.

"JUST FUCKING TELL US THAT YOU WERE CHEATING ON US WITH HIM!" shot back Bay. "KAI AND I ARE JUST FINE WITHOUT YOU!"

The dark purple octoling walked up to Bay and Kai to give them one last look, before slapping both of them. "WE'RE DONE."

Tears streaming down from his face, Quartz took off into the city. Heliodor ran after him, while the others didn't even bother. "I can't believe someone who looks like that took Quartz away from us." muttered Bay. He noticed Kai looking visibly upset, so he gave him a firm and protective hug.

"QUARTZ!" called Heliodor. He spotted the dark purple octoling in a dark alleyway. "I'm sorry I ruined your relationship..." He wiped some of the tears off of Quartz's face. "I didn't know they weren't comfortable with the way I acted..."

"At least Bay's happy because he's apparently just fine without me or whatever..." mumbled Quartz. "I should've known he was a jealous bastard from the day he gave me that stupid grin..."

"Eh?" wondered Heliodor.

Quartz recalled the day over a year ago, where he won his first turf war with Celeste, Ember and the Squid Sisters. Bay told him how good he was, but he just brushed it off as a sarcastic remark.

"I bet Kai's on his side too, considering they're so damn close." Quartz muttered, feeling the tears fall all over again. "It's been too long since I've felt this lost..."

Bay went to the local store with Kai. "I can tell you're trying to distract yourself." said Kai. "I'm really fucking mad, dear. Of course Quartz would leave us, he's been too lonely his whole life to understand love!" shot back the blue inkling.
