Judge Jennie Kim, known for her strict approach to juvenile justice, often dealt out harsh sentences. Her past experiences had made her wary of leniency. In stark contrast, Jisoo, a dedicated juvenile defense attorney, believed in second chances for young offenders. Their encounters in the courtroom were always charged with intensity.

Jisoo's heels clicked sharply as she entered the courtroom. Her usual confident stride faltered slightly when she saw Judge Jennie Kim sitting at the bench, her cool, composed expression unchanged as she reviewed the case files in front of her.

"Late again, Ms. Advocate?" Jennie's strict voice cut through the quiet room, her eyes barely lifting from the papers.

Jisoo quickly regaining her composure said,"Maybe I just like keeping you waiting, Your Honor."

During a high-profile case involving a 16-year-old accused of robbery, Jisoo passionately argued for rehabilitation, while Jennie leaned towards a severe sentence. The courtroom buzzed with their conflicting views.

Their worlds collided in the courtroom when Jisoo defended a young boy caught up in gang violence. Jennie saw a criminal; Jisoo saw a scared child. The tension between them was palpable from the start.

"Your Honor, this boy was forced into this life," Jisoo argued, standing firm in front of Jennie. "He needs rehabilitation, not incarceration."

Jennie's eyes narrowed, her tone icy. "We cannot let sympathy undermine justice. There are consequences for actions."

After court adjourned, Jennie caught up with Jisoo just as she was about to leave. "You know, I don't appreciate being challenged in my courtroom."

Jisoo turned, raising an eyebrow. "Maybe you should get used to it."

Jennie stepped closer, her voice low. "I'm not one to back down."

Their eyes locked, the tension between them simmering just beneath the surface. Jisoo's pulse quickened, but she wasn't about to give in just yet. "Neither am I, Your Honor."

After the trial, Jisoo was working late in the detention center when Jennie unexpectedly arrived. The tension between them was palpable.

"You don't have to be so harsh," Jisoo said, her frustration clear. "These kids need more understanding."

Jennie's gaze softened slightly. "And you don't always need to be so lenient. The law has its rules."

Jisoo moved closer, her voice earnest. "Sometimes, it's important to look beyond the crime."

Jennie's breath caught as their faces were inches apart, but she stepped back. "This isn't about personal feelings. It's about the law."

Jennie, couldn't get Jisoo's fiery conviction out of her head. No one had ever stood up to her like that, and yet Jisoo didn't just challenge her—she made Jennie feel things she thought she had long buried.

Outside of work, Jisoo and Jennie found themselves unexpectedly crossing paths in a quiet café. An awkward conversation led to deeper discussions about their differing philosophies on justice. Each was intrigued by the other's passion and conviction but remained skeptical of their opposing views.
