1:30 AMSHANEIL ANDRE SAUNDERS
ᴋɪʟᴏI always hated leaving my mother's house. She no doubt, felt the same. Her eyes flickered at the darkness, as I pulled out of the driveway.
"Unuh sure uno wah drive so late in the night?" I slowed down my car, poked my head out at her on the veranda.
"Mi nuh mind staying enuh," Cadence's voice thick with sleep. All wah gwaan a sleep she a defend.
"A Adelphi she live mummy. It nuh that far," I smirked. Truth is, I didn't get along with my father. I preferred to take her home. That way I was sure I would avoid getting in some shit with him.
Mummy pushed out her lips. A sign she wasn't getting her way. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Tomorrow mummy," I smiled and honked my horn.
"Alright drive the young lady safely. Love you mi bwoy," she waved her chubby arms.
I eased the car down the familiar route. I've lived in Bogue Village all my life. It's good to be back, even for a couple hours.
I started working as an Hr Manager at Riu Montego Bay, got my own place in Maffee Drive. Now I'm looking for the right woman to start a family with. I didn't have to look any further. I ran my hand around the steering wheel and looked over at Cadence.
"Watch har a sleep," I admired her. Her head resting against the window, eyelids fluttering as she fought off sleep.
Mommy was always ready to stuff people with her food. Jah. From she eat, she start get sleepy. On my soul.
