Link's POV:
We were back in those halls, even though she tried to hide it, I still saw the pain in her eyes as she looked around the area. It wasn't awful now, it felt abandoned and forgotten, instead of feeling evil or full of hurt and pain. It was much easier facing it with her, yet also harder. Now that I was with her, I remembered my connections to this place.

It didn't feel like just a place destroyed with random people, it felt like my home, my family, my friends, all gone and destroyed forever. There was no bringing them back, no miracle to fix all of this. I felt something trying to blame Zelda, it was her fault because she just couldn't awaken her powers.

No, it wasn't her fault, she tried her best. In fact, if I hadn't passed out, if I had been stronger, I could have saved everyone. I felt her grip my hand a little harder, why though? Oh, that's why. This was where the throne entrance had been, now it had completely collapsed. I removed my hand from her grip and wrapped my arm around her shoulder, and I felt her flinch.

"S-sorry, I overstepp-" I started stuttering out. "No, it's fine" she interrupted sheepishly. I nodded with a blush and kept walking. I turned around, making sure she turned around with me, before removing my arm and grabbing her hand. We walked out hand in hand, trying to find our way through the ruins of the castle.

I could see her flinch at everyone piece of falling debris, and I saw her holding back tears. It seemed like every one of her tears was a dagger to my heart and mind. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said it hurt more to see her even slightly hurt than to fall off a cliff. I could decide as I had seen or done both, mostly falling off of those cliffs wasn't intentional, but sometimes I did it for fun.

"Did you see me fall off every cliff?" I asked. "I saw basically everything, half of everything you did almost gave me a heart attack!" She said with a frustrated look. "Am I that hot?" I asked playfully. "Do-don't fl-flatter yourself!" She stammered with a beet red face, turning away, suddenly very interested in the stream that was beside us.

She walked over and cupped her hands together to drink the water. "Wait, don't drink that!" I shouted, startling her and running over. "Well, why not?" She asked, apparently oblivious to all the debris in the water. "Think about what you almost did for a second please!" I said. She paused, and it was like I could see her brain spinning like a guardian part.

It seemed to finally click and she somehow got even redder, seemed to even spread to her arms! Maybe, she had a fever? It wouldn't be implausible, her body just re-entered the real world. This of course was assuming she had been in a sort-of other dimension, which I wasn't entirely sure was the case.

Perhaps I could ask her sometime, though she seemed really thirsty at the moment, so it would have to wait. I clicked some more buttons on the Slate and summoned a bottle of milk.

She greedily took the milk bottle from my hands and struggled to get the cork off. "Need some help?" I asked. "Since when were they so hard to open?" She asked rhetorically with an annoyed face, handing over the bottle.

Her annoyed face was quite cute, even if I hated that I was think about her in that way. My best friend, higher than Kass and Sidon, or really everyone in Hyrule combined. I did hope that I was her best friend, but I doubt I could top Purah, Robbie, or Impa. Would she be lonely? This is not the Hyrule she knew, even if she was watching over it the whole time.

Most people she knew weren't alive anymore, and what made it worse was that she didn't know that many people. Then there was the problem of everyone being old. I opened the bottle first try, much to her dismay. "It's alright, I'm sure a lot of people have trouble with it!" I tried to comfort her with.
