Am I Not your brother, hyung?

Chapter 31

Even before Yoongi could get the chance to go to Jin, and apologise for his actions. Jungkook woke up with a loud gasp and started screaming in fear.

"H-he will kill me... Save m-me hyung... Will kill me..." chanted Jungkook like a mantra in absolute fear, his eyes were still closed though his hands shook terribly.
Yoongi in an instant hugged him close to his chest, trying to soothe the boy but nothing was helping. Jungkook barely opened his eyes to realise the surroundings. His mind played games on him, thinking he is still with his father.

Taehyung woke up too, hearing the noises, he couldn't understand what to do. So he just sat there crying himself, occasionally rubbing Jungkook's hand.

"Kook, my baby. Calm down, see Hyung is here... No one will harm you... You are all safe, hm?" again tried Yoongi but to no avail. Jungkook was far away from calming down.
As the thrashing continued, Jungkook accidentally kicked off the lamp. The sound of it breaking alert Jin, who was just in the next room.

He quickly wiped his tears, and kept his mother's photo back in the almirah and rushed to Yoongi's room.

His heart dropped down to his stomach seeing the sight. He could clearly understand what Jungkook was saying in fear. That didn't help much with his guilt,  how bad he could be to awaken his brother's worst nightmare.
Jin stood there for a good two minutes, thinking about his past actions. He wondered if this was Jungkook's state after their father came last time? He looks so terrible right now when he has his brother to look after, but what about the last time? They had practically abandoned him, the older could barely imagine the amount of his brother's suffering.

Don't get Jin wrong, it's not like he wanted to think all this at the moment instead of going to Jungkook. But he himself was young, and all of this was too overwhelming.

But as if on a cue, Jungkook called out for Jin in a broken voice. "Jin hy-hyung," even Jungkook didn't know why he called out for Jin. Heck he didn't even see him coming as his eyes were closed, but for some reason he wanted the elder to be here.

"Shh, it's fine baby. Hyungs will protect you, won't ever let you get hurt. It's all good. My bubba, calm down!!" soothed Jin, repeatedly kissing the boy's hair and massaging the back of his hand.

Jin's voice and actions seemed to work like magic as Jungkook's breath slowly got back to normal, and he opened his eyes grasping the world around him.

"What happened? What did you see in your dream?" asked Jin in a soft voice after making Jungkook drink water.

Jungkook wiped off his tears, and said " Hyung you remember that we went to meet Appa he hugged me?" Jin nodded in response and Jungkook continued.
" I dreamt that he hugged me so tightly, and it was so suffocating. He wouldn't leave m-me at all. He said he would kill me a-and that he hates me so much." saying this Jungkook again started crying.
All three of them did their best to calm him down, and this time with the warmth of his brothers Jungkook felt so much better.

Once Jin was sure Jungkook was all good he spoke, " Kook, Tae will you listen to hyung for a minute?" almost pleaded Jin.

Taehyung and Jungkook hurriedly nodded their head in response and Jin felt immense relief wash over him, his doubt of them hating him was clear, at least for now. He still wasn't sure about Yoongi though.

"Hyung didn't mean to hurt you both so much by calling you to meet Appa. I have that regret in my heart since years of not being able to save eomma. I didn't wanted you both to live with the same regret too. Appa's condition was really critical, and still is. You know how tough of a man he is. He will never let someone know about his feelings or if he is hurt. Doctor clearly told me to do everything he says, at least until he was under medication. And even I don't understand why he wanted to meet you two out of the blue, but belive me baby Hyung wouldn't have let anything happen to you both. I hope you can forgive me," saying this Jin got up , ready to leave the room when he felt a small tug on both of his sleeves.

"B-but the other day you said you would send us to appa?" meekly questioned Taehyung.

"That was because a few minutes before that, I had gotten the news of appa coming here. And I couldn't afford that, Jungkook barely had came out of his trauma, and he was just harassed before that. And seeing how you both were being so reckless, I was afraid appa just might punish you both and I spoke that in frustration. I...I would never ever send you to him, baby. Never!"

As soon as Taehyung and Jungkook heard this, they hugged Jin tightly. That was the only fear in their heart, which was cleared to now. They kept hugging him for a while, chanting apologies as well as exchanging love ya's !!

Jin then made both of them sleep by patting their head. And once he was sure they were asleep, he left the room. Jin didn't spare even a single glance at Yoongi, not out of anger but out of shame. He was ashamed to look in his eyes.

Yoongi on the other hand couldn't wait for the sun to rise to make amends. He hurriedly gathered the files from his office room which had all the information he collected and dashed to Jin's room.

Yoongi barged inside, and without giving Jin a chance kept all the files in front of him. He just wanted to justify his actions and get his hyung's forgiveness.

Jin glanced at the documents once, and said "I already knew about it Yoongi," shocking Yoongi to the core.
