Summary
Taehyun goes to the beach on summer break and that's where he spots Beomgyu, a brand new lifeguard.

Taehyun's summer break has officially started. During his last semester of his sophomore year of college, he was waiting eagerly for summer vacation. His final exams drained him mentally but after the results were declared, he was beyond relieved. He always studied hard and would receive good grades. Now he deserves some rest and refreshment. He's ready to revitalize this summer.
On one hot, humid summer day Taehyun decides to go to the beach. The salty air and sound of waves puts him at ease. Taehyun thought the beach is the perfect way to absorb that vitamin D. He also read somewhere that the magnesium in saltwater has a calming effect and can reduce stress.
In other words, Taehyun loves the beach.
As he's relaxing on the shore on top of his beach towel, he notices one of the lifeguards. Right then is when he makes an ultimate decision. He plans to visit the beach more often just so he can watch the pretty redheaded lifeguard in those cute little red shorts.
Taehyun has decided red is his new favorite color.
After a few days of secretly admiring the redheaded lifeguard, he gets an idea.
He thought it's a terrible but brilliant idea.
He enters the cool water and swims slightly further away from the shore until he's deep enough so his head is just above the water. He starts treading before glancing at where the pretty lifeguard is located.
Then Taehyun pretends to drown.
Someone notices and screams, "HELP SOMEONE IS DROWNING."
The lifeguard, Beomgyu, immediately becomes aware of the commotion and springs into action to save the drowning human. Adrenaline kicks in as he dashes towards the ocean with a lifesaver in hand.
Well, he'll be damned!
This dire situation made him utterly surprised. He just recently completed his lifeguard training and this would be his first time he's rescuing someone.
Beomgyu felt triumphant after he successfully rescued the person. However, he notices the victim isn't moving at all. Without any further delay, Beomgyu urgently keels next to the male's neck and shoulders then he gently tilts his head back in order to open the airway, just as he learned when he was in training. At that moment, Beomgyu takes a glimpse at his features. He doesn't realize how attractive the man actually is until he attempts to perform CPR. But he shall not get distracted, this is a life or death situation!
Beomgyu starts to count aloud as he performs the chest compressions. He begins to softly count aloud.
"1,2,3,4..."
But Beomgyu gets distracted by the firm, toned muscles he feels underneath his palms and ends up halting his movements. At that moment, he immediately realizes that he forgot one of the most crucial things he learned from his training that you should do before you perform CPR.
He becomes panic-stricken.
"I FORGOT TO TELL SOMEONE TO CALL 911."
Suddenly Beomgyu hears a sound of a chuckle below. His eyes shift downwards and he sees the man he's supposed to save looking back at him. The eye contact made his poor heart leap out of his chest.
His trance was interrupted by the man's alluring voice.
"Aw I was waiting for you to give me mouth to mouth."
It was an excuse to get a kiss from the cute lifeguard.
Taehyun noticed how the lifeguard's face was turning red. It was evident that he made him flustered. Taehyun thought to himself how extremely adorable he is and wants to ask for his number.
"What's a man gotta do to take a cutie like you on a date?"
Beomgyu was speechless. He just stares dumbly for a few moments, processing this man's words. After some pondering he makes a decision. He would consider himself stupid if he were to reject this fine ass man who went to great lengths to capture his attention and it worked.
This man was undeniably irresistible.
Beomgyu finally responds, "my shift ends at 6."
Pleased with that answer, Taehyun finally sits up from his laying position and Beomgyu gulps at the sudden close proximity.
"Perfect, I'll pick you up here at 6," Taehyun said with a wink. Then he stands up offering his hand.
Beomgyu hesitantly accepts and gets pulled up to his feet.
"See you later beautiful," Taehyun said then pivots and walks towards the ocean to cool himself off from the blazing hot sun.
They hadn't learned each other's names or got each other's numbers but Beomgyu supposes they will exchange that information later on their date.
As Beomgyu is sits in the lifeguard chair while patrolling the beach, there is a small, genuine smile on his face. During the remainder of his shift, he would take quick glances every so often at him.
He giggles at the thought of how it was a stupid yet clever way to get his attention. So how could he not give this guy a chance?
Happiness with a mix of slight nervousness takes over him. But Beomgyu, in fact, anticipates for this date. He can't wait for his shift to end so he can get to know this man.
Although Taehyun didn't need to be rescued from drowning it seems his heart needed saving instead. Beomgyu would be that perfect person for him.
