Chapter 21: Who is Jack ?

It was already three days and they were prepared to leave that night. Jaxon was not happy and a bit sad about it, he was still young but he knew not telling his parent about his plans was the best idea.

"Have you made the recording?" Jack asked caring less about how he felt.

"I'm about to " he placed his phone horizontally facing him and set the play to five seconds before it will start recording a video of him. He sat facing the cameral. Five seconds were up !

"Mom,dad if you get this video then know that I've gone far away from home already. I'm sorry you will be finding out that your son won't be with you again like this. I wish I can change the decision but unfortunately this is the best thing to do. Something came up and I have to answer to it, I plan on not dragging any of you into this mess I'm in.

I will be sincere with you,what I'm about doing is a fifty percent chance of survival. I promise to come back later in the future and even if you want to ground me for five years I'll comply. Do not think that you've done something wrong to me, in fact you guys are the best parent ever, just that I've made this decision which is for our own good. I love you both and I hope to see your faces again. Bye mom,bye dad." Before he finished his face was already watery from tears. He smiled bitterly and ended the video.

Jack felt pained a bit but didn't mention it, he kept his cold attitude "I think you gave out to many hints to what we are doing in that recording, it should be a secret. The deal was for you to just tell them you were okay and not to come looking for you that was all but you even went ahead saying you are in a fifty percent chance of living. I don't know what you are thinking but I don't think that video will make them less worried instead the latter will surely be the case".

Jaxon dried his eyes with a tissue paper "I think they deserves to know that much"

Jack shook his head "Here is what I think, I think you want to kill them with worry and guilt".

"What is that supposed to mean ? You know I want the best for them" Jaxon didn't like that comment.

"The best you say,how is telling them that you might die going to help ? You just added more worries than helping them to ease it" Jack accused.

"What do you have me do then. I was only trying to ease our parent worries, what have you done as a son ?" Jaxon asked pissed off.

"Me ? Son ?" Jack denied immediately, he was never going to agree that they have same parent and they are brothers living in the same body.

"Of course, you were born by them,weren't you ? They fed your body, and helped you grow up healthy. I hate to admit this but you and I are brothers. Whether I like it or not. We were given birth to by same parents. No —- we aren't just brothers but twins" Jaxon said stating a fact.

"Who the fuck is your brother ? I'm already older than you ancestors idiot !" Jack hated that comment too but I knew it was true, not like he was going to accept anyway.

"Jack, at the moment you are just a fourteen years old boy, you were older than them but now you are not. You are like me, get used to my it already " he said.

"How dare you compare me with a mere mortal like you" Jack was still proud as ever.

"Mere mortal huh ? Then since I'm a mere mortal you can go fuck your self and do the shit mission alone. I won't be moving an inch from where I'm sitting, in fact I'm not going again". Jaxon was angry.

Jack knew that Jaxon wasn't joking with him. He relented "fine you can save the video, that was what brought up all this unnecessary drama but you have to edit or delete it and make another without putting too much sensitive words" Jack was worried in his own way.

" I won't delete this video for any reasons you give me, if you don't care about our parent then you can as well fuck off and have the mission yourself" Jaxon disagreed.

Jack sighted "Just do whatever you want, I won't intervene. Just be quick with it."

Jaxon didn't answered. He removed his passcode on the phone giving whoever got their hands on it free access to it. He was going to send it to them but after a second thought he planned on leaving the phone and letter in his bed for them to see. That way there won't be a possibility of them being tracked down.

Huban didn't know when they were leaving just that it won't be long. He only had an idea where they were going and finally got approval to go visit his uncle. He travelled there immediately, he called Jaxon and asked when he was leaving. When he found out, he was already at his uncle's.

He knew the region they were headed. He asked his uncle and found out that there was only one entry close to a maize farm. The other places are parked with thick trees with strong branches blocking the paths. It was not like one can't get In through those path but one can get injured. Huban kept an eye on the maize farm that evening.

Huban walked around the maize farm but didn't dare went close to the entrance of the forest. It was getting dark already and he thought of knowing his way around so he have an advantage when spying on Jaxon and what he was up to. Most importantly, he wanted to see who Jack was. He had heard of him many times already from Jaxon while discussing, whenever he asked Jaxon changes the subject matter not willing to say a word.

Whoever that was, depending on how he sees the person would determine if he will report them so they won't leave. He had a feeling that Jaxon was being blackmailed and forced to do what he didn't wanted to do. This could be the blackmailer using Jaxon. "Maybe it is that Jack" he thought.
