"If you don't want anything bad to happen, it's best to leave here as soon as possible. That ghost baby seems to have set its sights on Wang Shanshan, and it's constantly growing stronger. Last time I saw it, it couldn't use a ghost domain, but now it seems to be starting to grasp it. Who knows what it might turn into next time?"
"I can feel that once that thing fully matures, its level of terror will be unimaginable."
Yang Jian returned to Wang Bin's home and immediately spoke.
"Are you... are you human or a ghost?" Wang Bin asked with a terrified expression.
Yang Jian replied, "I don't know. Maybe I'm human, maybe I'm a ghost. I'm not entirely sure myself. But as long as I can save you, that's enough. However, this isn't the time to discuss this, is it?"
"You're right, you're right. We should leave here. I'll go pack some things," Wang Bin responded as he realized the situation.
"Is that thing dead? It won't come back, will it?" Wang Haiyan asked, still shaken.
"It's not dead, and there's a good chance it'll return," Yang Jian replied.
Wang Haiyan, agitated, said, "What? Then why didn't you kill it? We hired you specifically to deal with that ghost thing. Now you've let it go, what are we supposed to do? If you can't kill it, we're not going to pay you. Who knows if you let it go on purpose?"
"Although I'm Wang Shanshan's classmate, business is business. Are you trying to renege on our agreement?" Yang Jian looked at her.
"If the problem isn't solved, do you think you deserve the money? Do you think it's so easy to earn 500,000 yuan?" Wang Haiyan retorted.
"You're mistaken, Auntie. It's not 500,000 yuan; it's 1,000,000 yuan," Yang Jian said seriously.
"Who said it's 1,000,000 yuan? My husband clearly told me that you asked for 500,000 yuan," Wang Haiyan said.
Yang Jian rubbed his head and sat down on the sofa. "This is really a headache. I'm a person who values principles. If we agreed on something, then that's what it should be. If you want to argue with me, I can't do anything about it. I didn't receive much education, and I don't have much experience, so I can't out-argue you people who have been around the block. In that case, let's just consider this a free service because of Wang Shanshan."
"By the way, Auntie, what kind of flowers do you like?"
"Jasmine. Why are you asking about that?" Wang Haiyan responded.
"Next time I bring flowers to your grave, I'll bring some jasmine along. If you meet that ghost baby again, you can handle it yourself. You're so good with words, I'm sure you can talk the ghost baby out of killing you. I'm leaving now, and I hope you can make it out of this building alive."
With that, he got up to leave.
He wanted to see whether Wang Shanshan's mother valued money or life more. He didn't have time to waste on this.
Seeing Yang Jian about to leave, Wang Haiyan's expression changed. She quickly forced a smile and said, "Wait, wait, young man. There's no need to rush. We can discuss this. Don't get angry. I apologize. After all, you and Shanshan are classmates, and helping each other is the right thing to do, isn't it? Shanshan has been thinking about you these past few days."
"Being classmates is fine, and helping each other is fine, too. I just helped your family, and now that I'm poor and down on my luck, Auntie, shouldn't you help me with 1,000,000 yuan? I can't be the one talking about friendship while you talk business, or I talk business while you talk friendship. That makes me the weaker party who always loses out, and all the benefits go to you wealthy people."
