Upon returning home, Ahyeon quickly entered her room and locked the door from the inside. Dato' Malik noticed his daughter's actions. "Rora, please forgive Ahyeon. She's still adjusting to everything. Give her some space to accept all of this. Mummy hopes you can be patient with her behavior," said Datin Aneesah. Honestly, she was grateful that her daughter had married Rora. Rora seemed more polite, gentle, and responsible.
"That's right, Rora. Daddy is also sorry because it feels like I pressured you to help me. Now that I think about it, I feel guilty towards you," said Dato' Malik.
"You should feel guilty towards Kakak, Daddy, not him. He's just using this situation to marry Kakak," Ella said. "Ella, watch your mouth. Your sister is the one who agreed to this marriage, and this man has saved your sister's dignity," Dato' Malik retorted.
"Kakak wouldn't have accepted him if Daddy hadn't threatened her earlier. Ella knows Kakak. I know her taste," Ella said as she walked away.
"I'm sorry, Rora. Ella's like that because she cares too much about her sister," Datin Aneesah explained.
"I understand, Daddy, Mummy. We all need time to adjust to all of this. I also want to apologize on Ruka's behalf. Ruka shouldn't have treated Ahyeon like that. Ahyeon truly loves her," Rora said.
"Enough, Rora. Your destiny is with Ahyeon. Here, take this key to the room. You're his husband now, and I'm begging you to treat her like your wife. Rora, please guide her, even if she wasn't your first choice," Dato' Malik said.
"I will try to be a good husband to Ahyeon, Daddy, Mummy. I promise to take care of her and never hurt her," Rora replied.
Rora opened the door to the room. He walked slowly and, holding the towel his mother gave him earlier, headed to the bathroom to freshen up. He saw Ahyeon lying on the bed. He moved slowly, not wanting to disturb his wife’s rest. He understood how stressed Ahyeon must be, given everything that had happened.
Rora sat on the sofa next to the bed, gazing at the face of the woman he had just married. Her face was calm, as if she wasn’t hurt by Ruka’s actions of leaving her earlier.
"Thank you, God, for granting me this partner. Although this marriage is something I never expected, I accept it as part of Your plan. If she is truly Your gift to me, I will do my best to cherish her. I know her heart doesn’t belong to me, but if she is truly my soulmate, please keep us together. Please fill her heart with love for me and open her heart to accept me as I am," Rora prayed silently.
"You've been staring at me for a while. Are you praying for our marriage to last? Don’t waste your time with all of that. We’re only married for the time being. I don’t want to hurt Daddy’s feelings, so don’t get too full of yourself," Ahyeon said from the bed.
"Okay, Ahyeon. If that’s what you want, I understand. I know this marriage happened out of obligation. I also know you agreed because you respect your father. I can respect your wishes but do respect me as your husband," Rora said.
"Fine, I can be polite, but only in front of your parents or mine. When it’s just the two of us, I’ll still can do anything that I want," Ahyeon replied.
"What’s wrong with starting with that when it’s just the two of us?" Rora asked.
"I’ve already told you, don’t pressure me. Do you want to divorce tonight?" Ahyeon threatened.
"Alright, I’m sorry," Rora said, walking to the bed, picking up a pillow, and heading to the sofa.
Ahyeon watched Rora’s actions. At least she didn’t have to explain herself to him. She was too upset to talk to a husband who had been forced on her. Rora lay down on the sofa, his mind drifting as he stared at the ceiling. He never expected his single status to change so quickly, and now he was a husband.
