Next thing she knew, there was darkness.

"Alex, Alex honey?" Each word panged, then resonated in Alex's head.
She opened her eyes cautiously, and was instantly blinded by the intense light of the room. Well, maybe it wasn't that intense, but it seemed like it, compared to the blackness.
Once her eyes adjusted, she looked up and found Abby peering from above.
The second Abby saw Alex's eyes open, she clapped excitedly, yelling the boy's names. "Ben, Riley, she's up, she's up!"
Alex slowly lifted her head and looked around the room. It was a new hotel room. She was wearing new, dry clothes, and was engulfed in a sea of blankets. Both Riley and Ben were passed out asleep by the door.
When they heard Abby, they started to get up slowly. Then, they realized why she was calling for them, and they jumped up, running over to the bedside.
"Alex, can you see me? How many fingers am I holding up? Do you know who I am?" The boys continued to ask questions until Abby shushed them.
"Alex, honey, how do you feel?" Abby asked quietly.
Alex blinked, confused. "I'm just tired, that's all." Her words were slurred and mumbled.
"What's wrong with her?" Abby said worriedly. "Where did you find her, exactly?"
Riley touched Alex's hand lightly before answering Abby. "I found her on the beach, by the water. The rain also didn't help." He sighed. "I think she has hypothermia. She's showing many symptoms. There's shivering, drowsiness, confusion, jumbled speech, and plenty of other things."
Ben and Abby stared for a minute. "Hypothermia can be..."
"Fatal, yes. I don't think she has severe hypothermia, though, jut moderate." Riley tried to be reassuring. "Someone should be around all the time with her though. Incase something does happen."
"I'll go first!" Abby pulled up a chair. "You two go relax for awhile."
Ben nodded and kissed Alex on the cheek.
"I could stay up instead, I really don't mind." Riley stated.
"Riley, go rest. You've done so much already today." Abby shooed him.
Riley sighed once more, kissing Alex's forehead before following Ben away.
"You two are cute. When are you gonna make it official?"
"Hmm?"
"You and Riley. I am obviously the relationship expert of the group. I see all. The way he carried you through the streets of Milwaukee, or the way he smiles at you."
Alex smiled, then shivered. "He said something....on the beach." She mumbled.
"What? What?!" Abby whispered.
"He said that he loved me..." Alex mumbled, feeling woozy.
Abby gasped and put a hand to her mouth. "I knew it! You two can be nerdy little lovers, together forever. This ship has sailed, I repeat, this ship has left the harbor!"
Alex giggled a little before she slowly started to slip into an unconscious state. She wanted to stay up and listen to Abby, but she couldn't fight it. Her body was on autopilot.
Abby's figure blurred, up to a point where she was just a blob. Then, Alex's eyelids flickered and shut.
