Tanjiro's POV

Date: Monday 7th September

Time: 15:35 pm.

The day went by quickly, luckily. Usually, I enjoy lessons, but today seemed to drag. Maybe the lessons were boring, or maybe I was just looking forward to hanging out with Genya tonight. It'd been a while since we'd hung out, I'd been busy with homework and Genya had yet again gotten grounded for another fight, but today, we could finally hang out again. I'd invited Muichiro too, since Genya seemed interested in him during the first period. Hopefully he doesn't mind. I decided to take Genya's advice and threw my ginormous backpack into my locker. I grabbed a pen out of it and shoved it in my pocket. God, I hope I don't get in trouble. The hallway was drowning with students standing in groups by their lockers. I squeezed my way through, towards the exit. I let out a sigh of relief as I burst through the double doors, dusting myself off. I scanned the area for Genya and found him leaning against a fence just outside school. "Hey, Genya!"

I smiled, walking up to him. "Hey, Tanjiro! You finally took that stupid bag off, eh?"

Genya teased, laughing. "Ha-ha, very funny. By the way, since you were so interested in Muichiro during Art, I decided to invite him to come with us. Is that okay...?"

I asked, crossing my arms, trying to read his face. Genya blinked a few times, but nodded quickly and leant against the wall again. "Hey, Tanjiro!"

Muichiro came up to us both from behind me, smiling. "Hey Muichiro!"

I greeted him, smiling back. My eyebrows raised. He was staring straight up at Genya, as if lost in a daydream. He snapped out of it, blinking a few times. "Hey. Genya, right?"

Genya nodded. "Yeah."

He said flatly, crossing his arms.

Muichiro looked back at me. "Don't worry, he's like this at first."

"I'm not like anything, what are you talking about?"

"Sure, Genya, sure."

Muichiro pointed at Genya. "I uh.. I like your nails."

He smiled. "Huh..? Oh thanks."

Genya nodded. "He let Nezuko practise on him,"
I said, uncrossing my arms so Muichiro could see my nails. "She did mine, too."

Muichiro laughed. "They look great."

Me and Genya had decided to go to the mall earlier. I turned to Muichiro. "Is that okay with you? We'll probably just stop by Hot Topic and then hang out at mine."

I asked. Muichiro nodded. "Yeah, that should be okay!"
He smiled. "Alright, let's go."

Time: 16:00 pm.

The mall was full to the brim with all sorts of people. Some stood in groups, others were walking around, chatting. Parents walked past with tantruming children, screaming and yelling. Genya pulled a face of annoyance every time one of them walked past us. Muichiro seemed to be well known among the people our age, receiving little waves from some and his name being shouted by others. I couldn't tell if he minded the attention or not, his facial expression hadn't changed since we'd entered. We turned a corner and entered the shop. "Whoa..."

Muichiro scanned around in awe. "This place is amazing!"Genya paused for a second, and turned to Muichiro. "You've never been to Hot Topic?" He looked at Muichiro, bewildered. Muichiro shook his head, looking up at Genya. "...How the fuck..."He shook his head, walking further into the store. "I'll be over there if you need me!" I say quickly, pointing to a spot in the store before walking away. Muichiro was nice. I have quite a lot of classes with him since his timetable switch, but I never really knew how to introduce myself. I turned around, looking for Muichiro. I raised my eyebrows. He stood with Genya, who seemed to already be comfortable talking to him. Genya has managed to get himself a bad reputation, but I'm convinced he's the sweetest person alive. After Nezuko. It's physically impossible to be sweeter than Nezuko. Genya didn't always have a bad reputation at school. It wasn't always like that. Genya's brother, Mr Shinazugawa; more commonly known as Sanemi, used to work as a teacher at our school. He wasn't the nicest, but since he was a teacher, Genya was labelled a 'teacher's pet'. I never found that fair. How was it his fault that his brother was a teacher? Genya hated it. Sanemi got fired after he lost his shit with a student who couldn't answer a maths question right. I was in the class when that happened. I still feel bad for Zenitsu. But somehow, Genya says he's still bringing money home. According to Genya, Sanemi usually tells him what he does for work, but he's not said anything this time, no matter how much Genya asked. I said he's probably seeing someone. Thinking about it now, I wouldn't be surprised if that was true. Genya got a bad reputation after punching someone who kept calling him names. He started to punch and start fights with anyone who called him things like 'Teachers Pet'. He stopped coming to classes and skipped often. I feel bad for him. School is the worst. I'd rather fight demons than go to school somedays.

// A/N!!
