A/N: this is real short but- oml lmfao someone just added this to a "waiting til it's finished" reading list- love ya lol :)

Percy woke up feeling groggy, dazed, and overall in a bad mood.

Apollo wasn't next to him, he wanted blue cookies, and he also wanted to know where Piper was.

Glancing at the IV in his arm, the son of Poseidon glared at it for a moment before ripping the needle out, turning his scowl to the monitor when it started beeping like it had just witnessed a murder.

"Oh, shut up," He snapped at it.

Obviously, it didn't.

About 5 seconds later, a certain son of Apollo rushed in, eyes wide and frantic. "Percy! What the fuck?! Why'd you take that out, you idiot?"

"Felt like it," He answered, not in the mood.

"Perce..."

"I'm fine, Will. I'm just going to sit by the lake anyway."

"Fine.. but if anything happens, you iris message me immediately, understand?"

"Yeah, got it."

And with that, he strolled out of the infirmary.

Okay, more like hobbled, but the demigod wasn't going to admit that.

Ignoring concerned and sad looks from surrounding campers, he made it to the lake and practically collapsed on the shoreline, crossing his legs and dipping hid hands into the water.

He'd not been there 5 minutes when Annabeth stumbled towards him, in tears.

"Hey, hey, Annie? What's wrong?"

The blonde just sat down next to him and cried harder.

He wrapped an arm around her, not really knowing how to help.

"G-gods, Seaweed brain... I-I just.. it hurts.. s-so much.."

"What does? Are you injured?"

"You.. n-no-one's told you?"

"Told me what?"

The daughter of Athena broke down in a fresh set of tears, gripping Percy's shirt tightly.

"Annie, please, tell me-"

"Piper.."

He froze immediately. "What about her? Did.. did something happen?"

He had a heavy feeling in the pit of his stomach, which was all too familiar. If he was correct, it would explain why everyone was so avoidant of the question he had been asking yesterday.

"She.. she-"

Percy swallowed.

"She's d-dead, Percy."

~This would be an awesome place to end a chapter but it would be too short so I can't >:(~

The son of Poseidon froze, and then pulled the other demigod into a hug.

He only half listened to Annabeth mumble, his mind stuck on the fact that one if the seven was dead.

Again.

"I'll bring her back," he said suddenly, wanting nothing more than to fix what he caused.

"Percy, no.. you c-can't.."

"I can."

"She deserves Elysium. It's just.. h-hard.."

He wanted to scream. He didn't know how to right his wrong, and Annabeth had just turned down his only solution to the problem.

"It'll be okay. We'll get through it, I promise."

"I know.."

They both stared across the water, the blonde still wrapped in the other's embrace.

"The water's pretty..." She murmured, trying to get the other demigod to be responsive.

He just nodded.

She sighed.

"Can you give me facts about seahorses? Please? It'll cheer me up," she tried again.

The son of Poseidon's face brightened.

"Did you know that it's the males that carry the baby? They're one of the only species that does that. I think. Anyway, they're also monogamous! Which means they're dedicated to only one person at a time, which is pretty cool when you think about it. They're also terrible swimmers, and they eat using suction, but that's weird, because they don't have stomachs. Imagine not having a stomach? Like, where does all the food go?"

Annabeth smiled softly at Percy's rambling.

A/N: yes, I did look up seahorse facts specifically for this chapter. You better be thanking me >:(

His excitement died down, and he trailed a hand through the water, humming softly as energy flowed through him.

It made him remember Luke, and the times before the Titan war.

They had been sparring, with Percy losing horribly, until they took a break. Luke had poured water over himself to cool off, and Percy, ever the fanboy, had copied him, his parentage causing him to get a massive adrenaline rush and disarm the son of Hermes in their next fight.

It had been exhilarating, to say the least.

He could remember Luke's shocked expression, then the bright grin that spread on his face, the demand that he do it again.

And obviously, Percy failing horribly to do it again.

Getting further lost in his thoughts, he recalled Luke's appearance: dirty blonde hair, blue eyes with a jagged scar over one, tall, always with a bright smile, and overall the camp role model.

That was partly why it hurt so much when he betrayed them.

The demigod wouldn't deny that he looked up to the son of Hermes.

Hades, he might even go as far as to say he had a small crush on him. But who wouldn't? Everyone wanted to be him, in a way. Whether it be looks, skills, charm, personality, popularity, he always managed to have something someone else wanted.

His mind wandered, and he thought about the situation with Silena.

Had it been Luke to threaten her, or Kronos?

He wanted to believe that it was the latter.

But remembering the daughter of Aphrodite's charred, burnt face, pained blue eyes, and dazed smile, it was difficult to.

"Percy?"

He snapped back to reality, blinking as he came back to his senses. "Sorry, yeah?"

"Nothing.. you just zoned out for a second there, Seaweed brain."

He hugged Annabeth a little tighter, trying to show her that everything would be alright.

From a distance, a jealous god watched, eyes already darkening with mild anger.

A/N: aaaand we're done! Sorry this took a couple of days, ive been busy with school
:( does anyone genuinely like school? I dont, lol. I like writing stories and not much else.

Anyway, what's your opinion on the Percy having a boy-crush on Luke when they were younger head cannon? It's not mine, and idk if it's cannon. Just thought I would use it because I wanted a high word count on this, lol.

Unedited.
