I woke up and looked up at my ceiling. Unfortunately I survived another night. Surprising, considering the mess our house was. Especially on days when dad was free and could spend his time with us.
I looked at the clock hanging on the wall, which was just an empty clock, giving me a prophecy for each day. Useful thing, considering that time didn't really exist in our realm. It is never too late to be what you might have been.
Said the letters on the clock. What a stupid thing to say. Especially considering the situation I was in, being a stupid kind of demon that was nothing like my father. I might've been an elite demon like him, instead I'm a family disappointment.
I got up, slipping my feet into the black slippers laying on the ground. A habit I've gotten from living with Agatha for so long. You never know when you might step into a pool of blood on the floor.
I crawled into the bathroom, looking at my reflection in the mirror. My own face looked back at me. Who gave me those genes? I looked kinda like dad, although my skin was much lighter than his, the red being more pale and less pigmented. My face had more mortal features, something Agatha loved to tease me about. That stupid brat. We are both the same age, yet her being the mortal adopted soul made her stay in her childlike form. I was still growing up, to reach my full demonic potential some day. But not yet apparently.
I ran my hand against my head. It's been something that father was very particular about. Shaving my own head ever since I was a kid, to the point where my hair just stopped growing. I never understood that anyway. He didn't have hair naturally, why do I have any? Well had would've been a better word. Although the only hair I've had left were my lashes. Surrounding my black eyes with very light pupils. Kiri would always say they're green, but I haven't seen any particular colour in them. Probably a trait I've gotten from my mother, although I've had no idea who that was. Hell, my father probably had no idea either.
I did my makeup quickly, before dressing up. I've had some stuff to do after all. Maybe I was a weaker demon than dad and even than Agatha, but I still was a part of the Malak's heritage. And I needed to fulfill some duties to maintain at least a part of my image.
I dressed up in a black crop top and a pair of pants that looked like this:
I smirked to my own reflection, wondering where I got this body from. Certainly not from dad."Emiraaaaa!!!!" Yelled a high pitched voice outside the door. Not even a moment of silence in my own house. "Dad says you have to come down right this instant!!! You're gonna miss breakfast."
Ah yes, a tradition that was created just for me. While Malak and Agatha didn't have to eat, my stupid body sometimes required food. Damned half demon body. Sometimes I wondered who my father decided to get with in order to create a freak child like me. And I could've sworn that he absolutely wasn't planning on having me.
I quickly put on some perfume and stepped down the stairs to meet my father sitting by the table with a cigar and Agatha playing with a purple soul shard, she probably gathered herself.
"Good morning father." I said, sitting down by the table, looking at the plate before me. A goat's heart. Still warm. My mouth started to salivate a little.
Dad looked at me, putting the cigar down.
"Some mortal I've made a deal with today left this along with his sacrifice. Really generous don't you think?"He said, as I dug my claws into the warm flesh and started eating it. Whoever that mortal was, I'm hoping he gets a quick death after his deal is over, the heart was absolutely delicious.
I finished and used a napkin to wipe my mouth clean.
"Emira. Today I will need you to cancel all your duties. Just...go have fun with Kirstian okay?" Said father when I set the plate into the sink. I knew exactly what this meant. Him and Agatha get to do cool stuff, hunting down mortals, I will be hanging back, not to be hurt. I sighed.
"I know you don't like it, but it's a crisis situation. As always when this happens." Said dad and Agatha just laughed at that.
"Believe me, you wouldn't even want to go with us!" She said, trying to cheer me up in her own messed up way. "They are fast runners! You'd be out of breath without the teleportation skills!!" She said, making me want to strangle her. She loved to flex with her teleportation skills.
"Sure. I'll stay with Kiri instead." I said angrily, turning around and running up the stairs back to my room. Nobody understands me.
