"Asa, when are you coming back?," Nenda Amizah asked. "I just arrived yesterday, Nenda. I was supposed to return during Rora's wedding leave, but I had to handle some office matters. That's why I only got leave now. Also, Rora asked me to bring some things for you," Asa replied.
"You're making it difficult for yourself, Asa. I'm not alone here, Haerin is here, and Hanni is also taking care of me."
"There's no trouble at all, Nenda. Besides, I consider you like my own grandmother. You've always taken care of me since I was little. I can never repay your kindness," Asa said, remembering the kindness of the elderly woman in front of her.
"Asa, I need to ask you something. Rora mentioned that she plans to open another company, right? Is there any job vacancy for Hanni? I feel sorry for her. She's smart, she shouldn't just be working ordinary jobs here," said Nenda.
"Oh, Hanni's looking for a job? But Rora just wants to open the company. I'm not sure if the company will be stable yet. But if Hanni wants, I can let Rora know. Rora and she know each other, so it won't be too awkward for her to work there," Asa replied.
"That sounds perfect, Asa. Rora can keep an eye on her."
"Is Ruka working with Rora too?" Nenda asked. Asa just nodded. "Ruka hasn't been back here for a long time. I can't go to visit her, I'm not fit for a long flight. But Rora's mom and dad always come to visit me here," said Nenda.
"Don't take it to heart about Ruka. She's just a little busy, that's why she couldn't come back here," Asa replied, though she knew the truth that Ruka didn't care about her grandmother.
"Are you okay, Nenda?" Asa asked.
"I'm fine. Would you like to have lunch here with me? Hanni will be back from college in an hour or two. You can eat here, it'll be fun," Nenda offered.
"Alright. I'll eat here. Let me help you cook. What would you like to have?" Asa asked while taking out the ingredients she had brought from her bag.
"Nenda. Haerin's back. Eh, Asa's here too. When did you get back?" Haerin asked.
"I arrived yesterday," Asa replied briefly.
"Oh, how long's your leave?" Haerin asked again.
"One week," Asa replied.
"Had you finished your job?" Asa asked.
"I just came back from the hotel. I'm not feeling well today, so I came back early to rest," Haerin answered.
"Haerin, have you eaten yet? Nenda already told you to have something to eat before you leave the house. How can you forget to eat while you're working as a chef?" Nenda scolded.
"Sorry, Nenda. I'll go upstairs now to lie down for a bit. Asa, I'll head upstairs first," Haerin said while looking at Asa.
Asa smiled and lowered her gaze. Honestly, she wasn't comfortable around Haerin because she knew Haerin had feelings for her. She had turned Haerin down gently, so she felt awkward engaging in casual conversation with her, fearing it might give Haerin false hope.
"Good afternoon, Boss," Dalila greeted.
"Eh, why are you sitting here?" Rora asked.
"Miss Asa asked me to cover for her and help you out. She got a one-week leave. She was worried you might get overwhelmed without assistance," Dalila replied.
"Oh, I see. I didn't think about that. Anyway, thanks. Anything for me today?" Rora asked.
"Nothing special, except for the lunch meeting," Dalila said, smiling.
