It was supposed to be a simple day out—a break from Mahiro’s usual embarrassing and complicated life. Mahiro Oyama, still adjusting to life as a girl, along with his supportive little sister Mihari, and their friends Kaede and Momiji, were excited to visit the newest attraction in town: Hololive Park, a sprawling, larger-than-life theme park dedicated to the virtual idols of Hololive. As they step through the grand gates, Mahiro immediately feels something’s off. The vibrant banners of Hololive members hang everywhere, larger than life. “I-I thought this was just a park?!” Mahiro stammers, clutching his bag nervously.
"Relax, Mahiro," Kaede laughs, slinging an arm around her shoulder. "It’ll be fun. Besides, aren’t you into these VTubers? You should be thrilled!"
Just as Mahiro starts to settle down, thinking they’ll just enjoy some rides and maybe see a few virtual performances, an explosion of confetti bursts from nowhere, and a loud, high-energy voice rings out:
“HAACHAMAAAAAA CHAMA CHAMA!”
Hoshimachi Suisei, Shirakami Fubuki, and Akai Haato (Haachama) immediately swarm Mahiro, grabbing her hands and pulling her toward the park's center, laughing and chatting as if they’ve been waiting for her all along. "Mahi-chan! You’re here!" Haachama says, gleefully spinning her around.
Mahiro's mind is spinning too, trying to grasp what’s happening, but before she can say a word, Marine and Aqua appear, with Pekora bouncing right behind them. "Ohohoho! Looks like we've caught a little cutie!" Marine teases, winking dramatically.
"I-I’m not a c-c-cutie!" Mahiro tries to protest, but the barrage of attention is overwhelming.
Meanwhile, Mihari, Kaede, and Momiji stand at a distance, utterly confused. "Why is she getting all the attention?" Mihari wonders aloud. "And who are these people?!"
Kaede crosses her arms, watching the scene. "I think they're some kind of celebrities... but why do they act like they know her?"
As if things couldn’t get any wilder, Ninomae Ina’nis calmly walks over, her tentacles quietly wriggling behind her, offering Mahiro a calm smile. "Don’t worry, Mahiro, they’re just excited to meet new people. It’s not every day someone stumbles into our world."
At this point, Mahiro’s friends are practically invisible in the whirlwind of activity. Gawr Gura leaps onto Mahiro’s back, shouting “SHAAAAARK ATTACK!” while Calli watches, trying to keep her cool but failing as she snickers at the chaos.
Mihari tries to intervene. "Mahiro! Are you okay?!" But her words are drowned out by the loud conversations and laughter of the Hololive girls. She attempts to walk forward, only to be stopped by Korone and Okayu who offer her snacks. "Try the Korone Special!" Korone says, stuffing something that looks vaguely suspicious into Mihari’s hand.
Kaede and Momiji, meanwhile, are desperately trying to make sense of the situation, only for Takanashi Kiara to sweep them up into a spontaneous idol dance practice. "You two look like you’ve got potential! Let's work on those moves!"
Mahiro, now sandwiched between Amelia Watson, Matsuri, and Nene, is starting to sweat. Watame is patting her head softly, and Luna is calling her "Mahi-tan." Mahiro can’t handle it anymore.
“I—I don’t understand! Why are you all so friendly with me?!” she finally bursts out, eyes wide with confusion.
The Hololive members stop for a moment, as if this were a serious, deep question. Gura scratches her head. “Hmm, I dunno. You’re just... Mahi-tan. You fit in perfectly here.”
The park speakers suddenly blare, announcing a surprise idol performance. Sora steps onto the main stage, calling everyone’s attention. “It’s time for our special guest to shine!” she announces, pointing directly at Mahiro.
Mahiro’s eyes widen in horror. “M-Me?! No way! I’m not performing!”
But it’s too late. The Hololive members surround her, pulling her onto the stage. “Don’t worry! We’ll help!” Subaru shouts, offering her a microphone.
Mahiro stands frozen on stage, flanked by the entire Hololive lineup, their eyes glinting with excitement. The music kicks in, and before Mahiro can fully comprehend what’s happening, she’s being swept up into an idol routine. It’s clumsy, awkward, and totally over the top, but somehow, the crowd loves it. Hololive fans cheer loudly, oblivious to Mahiro’s confusion.
Back in the audience, Mihari, Kaede, and Momiji are watching in sheer disbelief. "What… just happened?" Momiji asks, her eyes wide.
Mihari, still holding the snack Korone gave her, can only shake her head. "I have no idea. But... Mahiro’s really living out some kind of strange dream, isn’t she?"
As the performance ends with a glittery explosion of confetti, Mahiro collapses onto the stage, exhausted but somehow exhilarated. The Hololive members gather around her, offering congratulations as if she’s one of them now.
As the sun sets on Hololive Park, Mahiro and her friends finally regroup. Mahiro looks worn out, but there’s a small smile on her face. "I... I don’t even know what happened today," she says, staring blankly into the sky.
Kaede pats her back. "Whatever it was, you handled it like a champ. Maybe you should consider becoming a VTuber?"
Mahiro’s face turns red, and she waves her hands frantically. "N-N-No way! One day of this is enough for me!"
Mihari smiles, feeling relieved that Mahiro made it through the day, though she’s still confused about everything that just happened. “At least you didn’t get totally lost in the chaos.”
And with that, they leave the park, with Mahiro’s head still spinning from the whirlwind of Hololive attention, while her friends vow to never underestimate the chaotic power of virtual idols again.
