SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD CASEY BECKER LEISURELY STROLLED OVER TO THE RINGING TELEPHONE IN THE LIVING ROOM.

She placed it up to her ear, "Hello?" She asked.

"Hello," The unknown voice on the other end responded.

"Yes?"

"Who's this?" The voice asked.

Casey furrowed her brows, "Hmm...Who are you trying to reach?"

"What number is this?"

"What number are you trying to reach?" Casey asked, chuckling softly to herself.

"I don't know."

"Well I think you have the wrong number."

"Do I?"

Casey shrugged even though she knew the caller couldn't see her, "It happens. Take it easy," She said politely before placing the phone back down.

As she turned around to walk over to the kitchen, the phone rang again. She stopped dead in her tracks and turned around to face it again. Staring at it as it rang for a moment before she walked back over and picked it up again.

She sighed, "Hello?"

"I'm sorry I guess I dialled the wrong number," The same voice from before said on the other end of the line."

Casey chuckled, "So why'd you dial it again?"

"To apologize."

"You're forgiven. Bye now," She said, about to hang up when the voice stopped her.

"Wait. Wait," It said, "Don't hang up."

Casey bit her lip as she straightened. Keeping the phone up to her ear, "What?" She asked.

"I want to talk to you for a second," The voice said.

Casey chuckled and shook her head, "They've got 900 numbers for that," She told the unknown person, "See ya," She hung up again and with a sigh walked off towards her kitchen.

She grabbed some popcorn ready for popping out of the cupboard. Placing it on the stove after she turned it on. And just as she took the cardboard lid off, the landline rang for the third time that night.

The blonde teen let out a frustrated groan before grabbing the white wireless phone that was on the kitchen counter, "Hello?" She asked into it.

"Why don't you want to talk to me?" The same deep voice asked.
