(^Pretend Amy is in between Sam and Robby)
*Amy's P.O.V*
"How is Eli doing today?" Sam asked me as we were at Miyagi-Do.
Training doesn't stop. The Sekai Taikai is almost here and training will continue to happen every day until the tournament is here.
"He's doing better." I said as I stretched my arms. "I told him that everything will be okay."
"And does he believe that?"
"If he doesn't then he hasn't told me anything."
"Probably just hiding it."
"I don't know." I shrugged as we continued to stretch before Miguel, Eli, and Demetri decided to join us.
Robby and Tory are here as well but they were training together. I can see them from afar and Tory is punching. Something must be up with her. I want to talk to her about what's going on but she might shoot me down. She probably doesn't trust me enough to talk about her life at home. I mean, I get it. I'm not the first person she comes running to if she's struggling. But I think as we're starting to have a good friendship, we could be able to open up about things.
"Hey, guys." Miguel said as he was standing next to Sam and then Eli was next to me.
"Hey." Sam and I said at the same time.
I didn't say a word to Demetri because it's still rocky right now. I'm still a bit mad about what he said to Eli back when we were in the woods. His comments really rubbed me off the wrong way.
"I have a feeling that Sensei LaRusso and Sensei Lawrence have extra training for us today." Miguel said.
"I bet." I agreed. "They'll be training us hard."
"Tournament is around the corner.." Miguel beamed.
But as we were starting to talk about the tournament, I could see Eli's face start to turn sad. Even if he was feeling better, I know it's still hard for him because he's not on the Sekai Taikai team and isn't going to Barcelona. I don't want him to be upset so I gave Sam a look and she immediately changed the subject.
"I've just heard some news." She said.
"What kind of news?" Demetri asked.
"It's about Aisha.." Sam said, "I heard that she got accepted into UC Santa Cruz."
"Really? That's amazing." I applauded Aisha. I do miss her. I've known her as long as Sam has. It's kind of crazy, I should go and visit her one day.
"Have you heard anything from Stanford?" Sam then asked Miguel.
"No." He answered, shaking his head. "I've been checking my emails, like every day, but nothing."
"Hey, don't stress, it'll come." Eli assured Miguel. "I mean, Demetri hasn't heard from MIT yet, so.."
"Yeah, I did." Demetri said, "I got in."
Miguel and Eli looked at him, wide eyed. "What?"
"I thought it was obvious.." Demetri questioned, "Why are you all surprised? I worked my ass off to earn that spot. I earned it."
"Congratulations, Demetri." Sam then said, "It's a really hard school to get into."
"Yeah, it certainly is." Demetri said before he turned to my boyfriend, "Especially if you don't apply. Right, Eli?"
"Real subtle." Eli glared at him.
"Knock it off, Demetri." I said, already getting tired of his shit, rubbing it all in Eli's face. It's getting on my damn nerves.
