Chapter Thirteen- Chancing It

Emma and Katie bustled around Catherine's apartment, excitement buzzing in the air. They rifled through her closet, pulling out outfits and debating which one would impress Isaac's parents the most.

"Definitely the blue dress! It brings out your eyes," Emma suggested, holding it up for Catherine to see.

Katie chimed in, "And it's classy but not over the top. Perfect for meeting his parents!"

Catherine laughed, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. "Alright, let's go with that one." As she changed, she felt the weight of the occasion sink in. Meeting Isaac's parents was a big step.

Once she was dressed, Emma and Katie styled her hair, making sure every strand fell perfectly into place. "You look amazing!" Katie exclaimed, stepping back to admire their work.

Catherine took a deep breath, glancing in the mirror. She looked good, but more importantly, she felt confident. "Thanks, you guys. I really appreciate this."

Just as they finished, a text from Isaac buzzed on her phone: I'm on my way! Can't wait to see you.

Catherine's heart raced as she replied, Me too!

Within moments, the doorbell rang, and Emma and Katie exchanged excited glances. "Showtime!" Emma said as Catherine adjusted her dress one last time.

Catherine opened the door to find Isaac standing there, looking dapper and more handsome than ever. His eyes lit up when he saw her. "Wow, you look stunning."

"Thanks! You clean up pretty well yourself," she replied, feeling her cheeks heat up.

"Ready to meet the parents?" he asked, offering her his arm.

Catherine nodded, a mixture of excitement and nervousness bubbling inside her. As they stepped out into the evening air, she felt a sense of warmth and anticipation for what lay ahead.

Before they left, Isaac noticed Catherine's bag by the door and picked it up. "What's this?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Catherine smiled sheepishly. "Just a change of clothes. I have a 12-hour night shift tonight after dinner."

Isaac nodded, understanding the demands of her job. "You work too hard, you know that?" He slung the bag over his shoulder, a protective gesture that made her heart flutter.

"I love what I do," she replied, a hint of pride in her voice. "But I appreciate you thinking of it."

As they walked out together, Isaac couldn't help but feel a surge of admiration for her dedication. "Let's make tonight special, then. You deserve a good evening before diving back into work."

Catherine chuckled, feeling grateful for his thoughtfulness. "I'd like that."

With that, they headed to his car, excitement crackling in the air as they drove toward his parents' house, ready to embrace the evening ahead.

As they drove to his parents' house, Isaac gently held Catherine's hand, rubbing her knuckles with a comforting touch. She felt a mix of nervousness and excitement, her heart racing at the thought of meeting his family.

"Everything will be okay," Isaac reassured her, glancing over with a warm smile that eased her tension.

When they arrived at the estate, he parked the car and immediately took her bags, his protective nature evident as he led her inside. The grand entrance was warm and inviting, filled with soft lighting and elegant decor.
