Nothing

I was walking, walking home from school, after a long tiring day of getting bullied, doing homework, and running around for no reason. After a few minutes, I was getting tired because my bag was heavy and I was walking uphill. I stopped, put down my bag, and took out my water bottle. After a refreshing drink, I kept walking. Later I arrived home.

'Mom, I'm home' I said.

'Oh good, said Mom.'you can help me empty the dishwasher!'

What choice did I have? I put my bag down, helped Mom with the emptying of the dishwasher and went upstairs, dumped my stuff on my bed, took a shower and went back downstairs for dinner. Mom and Dad were in a conversation about  whether they should sell the 3000 square meters of forest. I was getting bored of listening to those two, so I took out my phone and started watching funny cat videos. ' Put your phone down, Max' said Dad. ' But your conversations are s-' I said, but Mom interrupted. ' This is not a time for scrolling through Insta or whatever it's called. ' 'Fine,  I said.

So I put down my phone and ate my pasta, while having to get bored listening to my parents' boring discussion.  After that I went straight to bed because I wanted it to be Saturday earlier.

Saturday, the day I can lie in bed all day texting my friends and sleep late, the day I can spend the entire day hanging out with my friends and playing Minecraft.  My only wish is to grow up and leave, to never be bullied again, to never be ignored during family discussions, to never be forced to go to gatherings. But then I will have to pay taxes, to move out, to go to university, to get a job. Of all places, why do I have to be in the one without magic and zombie apocalypses?
