Mia made her way to the cafe and went up to the counter to order her food.
She grabbed her food and made her way to the patio. She didn't see Messiah on the patio or in the common eating area, so she decided to just go eat at her desk and watch a movie on her laptop.
Back on her floor, she strolled down the hallway toward her cubicle, her mind drifting. As she passed Messiah's office, a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks.
"Mia," his voice called, smooth but firm.
She looked around, confused for a second, then heard it again. "Mia."
This time, she spotted the cracked door to his office, his figure barely visible inside. Mia pushed his door open.
"Hey," she said, leaning her head in. He was at his desk eating his lunch while he watched the game on his phone.
"Eat in here" he demanded
"I was just gonna eat at my desk" Mia said forcing a small smile. Deep down she wanted to eat with him but she still had the conversation with Madison in the back of her mind.
Messiah scrunched his eyebrows together at her. "For what? I thought you wanted to eat wit me?" He asked
Mia folded her lips together and looked back down the to see if anyone or at least Madison was watching. She quickly slipped in his office closing the door behind her.
"What chu acting like that for?" Messiah said leaning back in his chair
"Acting like what?" Mia asked innocently as if she didn't know what he was talking about
"Weird, like you looking for somebody or sum" he
"I'm not." She simply said before sitting at the chair that sat in front of his desk.
They ate in silence, the football game playing on Messiahs phone being the only noise that filled the room.
Messiah glanced up at Mia, watching her as she twirled her fork through her pasta. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, but he pressed them together, trying to hide it. She had that effortless kind of beauty. Even the way she ate—messy but somehow cute—had his attention locked. His eyes trailed up to her hair, pulled back in that neat but messy slick-back bun, a style he was a sucker for.
Mia finally looked up from her plate to see Messiah staring at her. She blushed and quickly grabbed a napkin to wipe her mouth. "Stop looking at me" she said trying to hide her blush.
"Can't help it. You gone tell me wassup witchu now?" Messiah asked as he leaned back in his chair
Mia rolled her eyes. Messiah was always able to tell when something was wrong, no matter how well she thought she was hiding it.
"I already told you nothing Messiah" she said calmly
"Ight. So it ain't got shit to do wit you kissin me?" He said raising his eyebrows as he lightly smirked at her
Mia sighed. "Ok Messiah. Yes I think you cute or whatever but it was a moment of weakness and I have a man. And I feel bad about it so let's not bring it up anymore. Damn"
Messiah chuckled. "Word? And how that's goin for you? You got a man but you still sittin' here wit me though" he said
Mia stared at Messiah. She couldn't even argue, because he was right. The only thing she could think to do right now was leave, she felt like he thought she was some kind of hoe. She had a whole nigga that cared about her but she was allowing lust to have her up under Messiah.
