A child will grow
with age, knowledge and maturity
Soon you have to say goodbye
as they wander off to university.

Your sister's leaving
but not until Sunday
So you have one more evening
before she goes a distance away.

You say farewell
To your childhood friend
and hope their time there is swell
a message of love yet to send.

As they leave the nest
soon you'll see
They'll have to fly
Before they can rest.
