Vox and Mr Puzzles were a couple in Hell and have 8 wonderful (or something like that) kids. On the outside, they seemed like the perfect couple. Fame, power, a family, the greatest overlords in Hell. But it wasn't inside.
Vox and Puzzles would always argue about something stupid. But they wouldn't fight in front of their kids, no. They don't want them to see the couple like this, always arguing. They'd usually do it somewhere private, like in their room or out on the balcony or something.
One night, they were arguing on the balcony. They made sure the kids were out hanging with their friends or asleep. Elise was the only one there that was taking a nap (with Spark and a couple of others).
She went to the kitchen to grab a midnight snack, but then heard her dads arguing. She was the middle child and felt like Vector –Her older sibling– should take care of it, but he barely cared about them, just the business their dads shared and his personal stuff.
Plus, Elise took care of her siblings, including Victor –her oldest brother and the eldest of them all– and being the mom of all of them. So she decided to eavesdrop on Puzzles and Vox's argument.
"WHY PUZZLES!? YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HER! AFTER 15 YEARS OF BEING MARRIED, YOU DECIDED TO HAVE AN AFFAIR!? WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK?!?!?!?!?" Vox shouted at Puzzles, tears filling up his eyes. He felt betrayed by Puzzles' action. He loved him dearly, but this action he made was unforgivable.
"I WAS DRUNK! HOW THE FUCK WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING!?!?!?" Puzzles shouted back, his tv screen glitching out from anger.
It was common since the tv head couple were tv heads (no durr). It was passed down to their kids. It would only glitch out if they had a strong emotion (anger, sadness, broken screen, etc).
Elise couldn't, no, wouldn't believe what was going on. Her dad, sleeping with another person? She couldn't bear to think of the mental image of it. Unexpectedly, she heard Vox speak again.
"Blah, blah, blah! You always make up fucking excuses! How about next time, when you drink. Don't go out to a bar without, oh, I don't know, ME!?"
"IT'S NOT MY FAULT! WE WERE DRUNK!! WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND!? THERE WAS NO STRINGS ATTACHED!" Puzzles yelled with emotions. You could hear his voice breaking, from sadness and anger. He never liked to argue with his husband, but sometimes, he just couldn't with him.
"That's what they all fucking say, "No strings attached" when there is." Vox said with an upset sigh. "Y'know what? I can't deal with this shit anymore. We're breaking up." Vox said. Puzzles' eyes widen in fear and upset. Breaking up? After 15 years? This couldn't be. He didn't believe him.
"You're fucking lying, are you?" He said with an unamused chuckle. He wouldn't believe it, he took a slow step back in disbelief. "You wouldn't, after 15 years.."
"After what you did? Nah, those fifteen years were probably full of shit because who the hell knew what you were hooking up with? You can find some other place to live in, but not here. I can't stand to even look at you."
"Vox, please–"
"No Puzzles, you always talk about wanting a break from everything. Well, here it fucking is. Take a break from me, the kids, work, everything. Now, get the living fuck out of my house." Vox said, pointing to the door, mentally and physically telling him to leave and never come back. Puzzles scoffed at him and left. Vox then left the balcony to his room.
Elise was in shock, his dad's breaking up. Tears were filled up in her eyes, a million thoughts were running around her tv-head. She couldn't settle for two birthdays, two christmas' basically this whole situation. She knew one day, her dads would have to tell her to choose to live with, but she didn't want to choose. She wanted to stay with both of them.
She went to her room, laying down, thoughts still running in her head. A knock then was heard from her door, she told them who it was. It was Batty, her younger sister. She told her to come in.
"Elise, where were you? I went to your room and you weren't there." She asked. Even though she was the youngest, she cared a lot about her siblings.
"Oh, I was just... busy with something. Why, what's wrong? Did you need something?"
"I just wanted to know why dad and papa were yelling." She asked. Fuck, they were that loud? Elise thought. She couldn't tell her that they were arguing and broke up, she didn't know how Batty would react.
"They were just fighting with someone that told them that the business sucks. Nothing much." Elise lied to her. Batty chuckled.
"Did they win?"
"Umm, no they didn't. But they'll get back with them, so don't worry about it. Go to bed"
"But I had a nightmare, can I sleep with you? Pleaseeeeeee?" Batty asked with puppy eyes, begging Elise to sleep with her. Elise chuckled at her attempt and moved over to make room for Batty on the bed. She patted on the free space for Batty to lay down. Batty climbed on the bed and went to bed.
"Night sis"
"Night.." Elise spoke, still in shock from her parents' argument from earlier. She didn't want to believe it, she wouldn't believe it, she won't believe it. She was still a child, she did nothing to deserve this. She then dozed off and went to sleep, hoping that this night was a dream and it was a lie.
