The night was cold and harsh. Stanley Pines sat sloppily on his couch, writing a plan of how to impersonate Ford further. Stanley had already played out the part (very convincingly) where he had to fake his own death so he wouldn't be missed. He felt like he wouldn't be missed anyways, but this was all for precaution. His heavy hand pushed the lead of the pencil onto the paper, nearly breaking the pencil as he wrote down bullet points. He grumbled to himself.
"All my fault. Why did I have to be so selfish?" He blamed himself for his brother falling into the portal. He blamed himself for his brother not being able to do great things... possibly being lost forever. Stan gritted his teeth, a single tear falling onto the blue composition book's pages, soon jumping a bit once there was a loud knock at the door. Who could it be at this hour? Stanley checked his watch. It was 12 AM. He rapidly shot up, closing the notebook as he slipped on his house shoes and wrapped his blue robe around his underdressed body. Stan put on an act as he opened the door, some snow from the storm shooting into his house. He kind of just stood there, looking at the man in front of him.
Who is he? Stan asked himself, giving a confused look. Stan bit on his bottom lip, shivering a bit. Oh gosh. This man must be freezing. Stan was completely unaware of the storm surrounding his abode before this random man came knocking on his door. He was about to say something until his thought-to-speech was interrupted by the man speaking.
"Ford- look. m' sorry. M' sorry for quittin'.. It's just- you CAN'T keep workin' on that portal. You are gonna' let sumn' dangerous into this world.. please." The man had a tall and thin stature. He wore small circular glasses that sat on the bridge of his nose. His voice had a southern twinge. He sounded like he was from Texas, no. More like Tennessee.
Stanley just nodded along, looking at him as if he had any idea what was going on.
"Uh. Okay. Sure. I forgive you." Stanley said, putting a few pieces together. This was Ford's old lab partner. He probably knew how to bring Ford back! But how could he play this off?
"Look. You were right. The portal has been slightly... what's the word.. vandalized. I need to fix it so I can.. properly dispose of it. It's been acting weird ever since it broke down." Stanley made an excuse for Fiddleford to help him rebuild the portal. Stan would eventually tell the nerdy looking southern guy. He bit his lip.
"How about you come in?" Stan asks. "It's. Uh. Cold." Stan said to the obviously shivering male. Stanley stepped out of the way, allowing the man to step into the shack. Stan then closed and locked the door, going to deal with the shivering man who hadn't even answered his proposal.
That night turned more into Stan talking care of the nearly frozen scientist, running him a warm bath. Little did he know that Ford would never treat the other so well. While he let the skinny male wash up, he went to go look for some clothes for the man to wear. Stanley looked through his closet and his drawers before grabbing a few items, running into Ford's old notebook. Stanley began to skim the pages to find the name of the lab partner... "Fiddleford?" He couldn't help but to laugh a bit. That was hilarious.
Stanley began to walk back into the shabby bathroom, setting the clothes down on the counter before grabbing a towel from the set of drawers, placing one ontop of the clothes. He sat beside Fiddleford, just staring into his face for a bit. Fiddleford stared back, his face red. The man was thinking about something. He didn't know what though.
"Look. Fiddlesticks. Im sorry about what happened.. I don't remember what actually went down.. I stumbled onto the forget ray. But I know what I did was really wrong and you were right. Oh you poor thing. You must be freezing."
Stanley didn't know how to act. He really didn't know how his brother acted. He didn't know he was completely off. The brunette stared at him with a thoughtful glance again. Stan wondered about what the man was thinking about.
(I kept seeing fiddlestan art so I decided to make this)
