On the 12th hour of the first day of October 1989, 16 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.... He got eight of them.
Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopts eight of the children, Marcus, Ben, Fei, Alphonso, V, Sloane, Jayme, and as well as a psykronium cube named Christopher, and builds them into a competent and popular superhero teamed dubbed the "Sparrow Academy."
The wonderful Sparrow Academy was recognized and admired all over the country, having their own fan club for one and each of them.

#8: Christopher Hargreeves: Born with multiple powers too numerous to list exhaustively, but the most self-evident ones are in flight, some ability to make sure others understand the chirping sounds he makes, segmenting and reuniting his body, and firing incapacitating red energy beams. Other alleged abilities include lowering the temperature of a given space and being able to induce fear and paralysis.
