Imlie's Pov

‘Imile, I have been trying to get a hold of you since yesterday.’

‘Your mum is very sick, I am scared. She has been asking of you since yesterday.’ My Grandma said.

I haven't seen my mum for a while and the fact she was very sick made me worry.

I fell back on my chair and ended the call. All I could think about was how to get to Pagdandiya.

My phone beeped but I ignored it.

‘Imlie, imlie,’ She tapped me gently bringing me out of my reverie.

‘What were you thinking about?’ Divya asked. ‘I have been talking to you for a while now.’

‘Nothing, I'm good.’ I faked a smile at her.

‘Fine then, Mr Rathore wants you in his office now.’ She says and heads towards her seat.

I got up and wobbled into his office. I shut the door behind me and he rushed towards me.

He locked the door and closed the blinds.

He sat down on his chair and pulled me to his lap.

‘What happened imlie? You look so pale.’

'My mother is very sick and I'm not with her. I want to go see her.' I broke down and started to cry.

I couldn't hold it in anymore and he tried his best to calm me down.

'It's okay, she will be fine. I will take you there myself tomorrow. It's late already and it's dangerous for you to travel alone at night.'

'No,' I manage to say between sobs. 'You don't have to come with me, I will go by myself. '

'Why not?'

'You have work and you are needed here.'

'But…' He tried to protest but I cut him off. 'No buts, you will stay back here.'

He looked at me and then agreed. He knew I wouldn't budge and given my current state, he wouldn't want to argue with me.

'You should go home and get ready for your trip.' He responded.

'You know what, let's go. I will go drop you at home.'

'But you have a lot of work pending.' I say, trying to protest, but I know he wouldn't budge this time around.

'That can wait,' he said and closed his laptop.

*****

I haven't seen him since he dropped me off at home.

'Imile, you look like you are waiting for someone to show up.' Arpita whispered teasingly.

'No, who will I be waiting for?' I asked and tried to stop looking at the door.

'You know who I am talking about,' she said and winked at me.

I feigned ignorance and continued packing my stuff.

It was around 7 pm when he finally got home.

He went straight to his room and I waited till 7:40 pm before heading to his room.

'Hey,  are you done packing?' He asked after closing the door behind me.

'Yes,' I answered, staring at him drying his hair.

He just got out of the shower, I kept staring till he snapped his fingers.

'Stop ogling me, sweetheart.'

My feet started to move on their own, and I was standing in front of him; I brushed his wet hair to the side.

'Okay, now you are scaring me. I'm not going to disappear.'

'Allow me to look at you, I'm going away for a few days.' The thought of going away from him started to hurt me but I couldn't understand why.

'You can take a picture of me on your phone, how about that?' He said.

'No, stay still.' I insisted.

'You will have to catch me then.' He smiled and moved away from me.
