Aiden ran left and right through the corridor. The corridor was a maze. Luckily, he found Haeun at the end of the corridor. She was sitting there on the floor, leaning against the wall, pulling her knees near her chest, looking down at the ground.
Aiden sighed in relief, holding his waist, closing his eyes, tilting his head back. He walked up to Haeun without making any noise and sat beside her on the floor cross-legged, looking at Haeun.
When Haeun felt someone's presence beside her, she became agitated and backed off a little.
'I'm Aiden, don't be scared,' he tried to reach out his hand for Haeun but stopped himself from doing it.He sat back as before, so did Haeun. She looked calm and composed.
Aiden expected Haeun to be angry for sitting beside her, but nothing like that happened. They sat in silence for a while.
Aiden stared out of the big window glasses from where the dazzling city of Seoul could be seen along with the open sky. Stars blinked, and the moon shined.
Aiden had never seen the sky like this. 'Why are you here though?' Haeun asked suddenly.
'I'm your bodyguard, I must stay around you.'
'You said I have to trust you, in order to trust you we should become friends, isn't it?'
Haeun was partly facing Aiden who watched her for a second and answered, 'Yes, we must become friends.'
Haeun nodded quietly. 'So can I ask you why did you come here alone?' Aiden inquired.
'I wanted some time alone, I've just indirectly challenged my enemies, and it's true that I can't confront them alone,' Haeun explained.
She further added, 'I just can't let anyone play with this business, this business was a second child to my father. He worked so hard for it.'
Aiden could sense her fear. Haeun was undoubtedly a smart and intelligent girl but, she needed someone to stand by her side. It's not because of her sight, we all need someone to stand by our side, no matter how strong we are.
'I'll help you confront your enemies, you're not alone,' Aiden said with compassion.
'Thanks,' Haeun smiled a little for Aiden's supportive words. For the first time, she smiled for Aiden.
The smile caught Aiden's eyes; it was a small one but still beautiful. When Haeun stood up with her cane and unfolded it, Aiden stood up too.
As she raised her cane vaguely, 'Hold the other end of the cane, show me the way back to the party hall,' she commanded Aiden.
'Okay,' Aiden chuckled secretly. He was amused by Haeun's behavioral change. She didn't want a bodyguard and didn't give attention to Aiden even a few minutes back, but now she wanted him to help her.
Aiden held the other end of the cane and pulled it softly. He walked through the corridor along with Haeun a few feet behind him.
There was nothing in the corridor where Haeun could bump, so it was a relief for Aiden.
'So are you an American?' Haeun asked.
'How do you know?'Aiden asked back.
'Just guessed.' 'Were you scared of not finding me at the hall?' Haeun demanded.
'I thought, I would lose this job,' Aiden simply joked in a serious tone, which made Haeun smile silently.
'I'm not going to trust you easily,' Haeun declared.
