I pounded the code into the keypad at the entrance of my school building. There were three buildings on this campus; The middle school, the high school, and the STEAM wing, which stand for: Science, Technology, engineering, arts, and math. I was going into the STEAM wing, it was a small, L shaped building, which had entrances on either side of it.
A Cello hung from the straps of My back. I had my 12 million pound backpack on my chest, and my field hockey stick on top of it.
When the doors unlocked, I stumbled over to my locker, and dropped all of my stuff. I moved my shoulders in circle movements and stretched my arms. I then stuck my backpack into my empty locker, my field hockey stick on the top of the lockers (Took her a while to get it up there), and then put my Cello in the corner of my advisory room.
I had brown curly hair that reached to the middle of her back, I also had brown eyes, and tan skin. My mom always says that I have natural beauty, because of my thick lips, long eyelashes, and pink cheeks.
"Hey." I heard a voice behind me, I turned, it was my best friend Lyn. We had known each other since before preschool, though we didn't go to the same preschool. Then, they accidentally went to the same kindergarten, and have gone to the same school for around 11 years. "Hey, Lyn." I replied. "Excited for the first day of school?" Lyn questioned. I noticed the flopy backpack on her back, and thought back to mine."Please note that I am already carrying a huge cello, field hockey stick, and 12 pound backpack."
"Guessing that's a yes." Lyn muttered, I rolled my eyes, then watched her put away own field hockey stick and backpack away. I suddenly heard the sound of one of the entrances open. She and Lyn looked over, and saw a boy we didn't recognize.
He must be a new kid.
He had dark skin, brown eyes, and silky brown hair. He looked over at Me and Lyn, I, gave him a small smile because I don't know how to talk to people and turned back to Lyn. "Do you know who that is?" Lyn hissed at me suddenly. "No, should I?" I replied. She is always like this, and then she usually mistook their appearance's."Yes!" Lyn almost yelled, she lowered her voice: "That's Alden Bond," she said. "Who?" I asked, Lyn was the one who usually knew if people were famous actors or not. I know the authors, "Alden Bond, son of Bryant Bond." She explained. "Oh! Bryant Bond, isn't he a famous actor?" I inquired. "YES!" Lyn whined.
I looked over Lyn's shoulder at him, he was organizing his folders in his backpack. "Don't get your hopes up about him," Lyn warned, "All of the girls will be swarming him by lunch." Lyn scoffed. "Please, me, liking him?" I asked, she is always bugging me about boys. "No." I said plainly. Lyn scoffed again. "Okay, whatever." Lyn shrugged. "You're definitely not going to fall for a famous boy-" I cut her off. "Shut up." I hissed.
"Hey, do y'all know where room 54 is?" Alden asked, I wasn't good at talking to people, I was an introverted introvert, except for with my friends. "I-it's at the end- over there." I pointed out, I have a terrible stutter around strangers. "Thanks!" He smirked.
Once he was out of earshot, "I'm so good at talking to people." I said sarcastically. "Yeah, you can say that." Lyn said, patting me on the shoulder.
"What's your first class?" Lyn asked, "Orchestra." I answered. "LOL, I have a choir."
"Hey! I love orchestra!"
"You also love history." Lyn muttered.
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!" I asked. "It means you're a nerd." Lyn explained. "So are you." I argued. "C'mon, let's get to advisory." Lyn said, walking towards room 58. I followed.

After orchestra, it was break, I made my way over to where Lyn, and her other best friends were sitting. "Hey, Duncan, Lyn." I greeted them. "Hailee." Duncan addressed me. He had curly light brown hair and hazel eyes. Back when they were in middle school, I had a small crush on him. He knew that, now, of course, but he didn't care. I took him place next to them on the table. "So, happy that it's the first day of school?" I asked Duncan. "Meh, I mean, I'm glad to see you,and all of my other friends." He replied, placing his arm around my shoulders. I shrugged him off of me with a chuckle, people usually thought we were dating or something like that, I could see why, but I'm still looking for the perfect someone. "You forgot about Lyn." I said, "Oh, right!" He said stupidly, and placed his arm around Lyn's shoulder. She gave him a look, and he pulled his arm away. "No." She said flatly, that made me erupt with laughter.
