"THE BRAVE GIRL":

THE NIGHT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

LOS ANGELES,

March 15, 2022

Tamilore "Tami" Johnson's eyes scanned the crowded street, her heart racing with every passing face. She clutched Matthew's arm, her best friend since childhood.

"Matthew, let's go home. It's getting late," Tami urged, tugging him toward the bus stop.

Matthew chuckled, his bright smile illuminating the dimly lit street. "Relax, Tami. We're almost at Delight's protest rally. It'll be fun, I promise."

Tami hesitated, but Matthew's enthusiasm was contagious. They had always shared a passion for social justice, and Delight's rally against police brutality was too important to miss.

As they turned a corner, the sound of chanting and drums filled the air. The rally was in full swing. Tami's excitement grew, but her unease lingered.

Suddenly, a scuffle broke out near the stage. Police officers in riot gear stormed the scene, batons raised.

"Matthew, oh no!" Tami cried, her voice lost in the chaos.

Matthew rushed forward, phone in hand, to record the violence. Tami followed, her heart pounding.

That's when she saw it – a police officer slamming Matthew to the ground.

"Tamilore, run!" Matthew shouted, his voice fading as the officer's boot connected with his stomach.
Tami froze, paralyzed by fear.
The world around her blurred, except for Matthew's battered face. And then, everything went black._Tamilore's Vision Blurs_Tami's eyes fluttered open, her head throbbing. She lay on the ground, surrounded by shouting protesters and flashing police lights.
Matthew.

She scrambled to her feet, frantically scanning the chaos.
"Matthew!" Tami screamed, her voice hoarse.
A hand grasped her arm, spinning her around.
"Tami, come on!" Delight yelled, pulling her through the crowd.Tami resisted, breaking free.
"Matthew!" she shouted again.
Delight's expression turned grim.
"Matthew's gone, Tami. The police took him."Tami's world crumbled.

_Flashback_

Tami and Matthew had grown up together, exploring Los Angeles streets and sharing secrets. Matthew's family had taken her in after her parents' divorce.

Matthew was more than a friend – he was her brother.

_Tami's Resolve_

Delight guided Tami through the dispersing crowd, toward a waiting car.
"We'll find Matthew," Delight promised.
Tami nodded, determination igniting within.
She would find Matthew. She would expose the truth. And she would fight for justice.

Delight ushered Tami into her car, speeding away from the chaos.
"Tami, breathe," Delight said gently, handing her a bottle of water.Tami sipped, her mind racing.Where are we going?" Tami asked. My place," Delight replied. "You're safe there."
The car screeched to a halt in front of a nondescript building.
"Welcome to my sanctuary," Delight said, leading Tami inside.
Tami's eyes adjusted to the dim lighting, taking in the vibrant artwork and protest banners.
"Matthew will be okay," Delight reassured.
Tami nodded, fighting tears.

_Delight's Past Revealed_
Delight handed Tami a cup of steaming tea.
"I know what it's like to lose someone," Delight said, her voice cracking.
Tami looked up.
"My brother, Emmanuel," Delight continued. "Police killed him during a protest. They said it was an accident."
Tami gasped.Delight's eyes blazed.

"That's why I fight, Tami. For Emmanuel. For Matthew. For every voice silenced."Tami felt a surge of determination. We'll find Matthew," Tami vowed.Delight smiled.
"Together."
_Tami's Resolve Strengthens_
As Tami sipped her tea, she noticed Delight's artwork:Voiceless No More"

Tami's Transformation Begins_
Delight's words echoed in Tami's mind: Be the brave girl, Tami."
Tami's gaze fell upon a canvas in the corner, paint-splattered and inviting.
May I?" Tami asked Delight.
Delight nodded,
Tami's fingers danced across the canvas, colors blending into a vibrant portrait: A girl standing tall, fist raised. Voiceless no more.
The Brave Girl".
Tami stepped back, tears streaming down her face. Delight wrapped her in a warm hug."You're ready, Tami."The Phone Rings, Delight's phone pierced the silence.
"Delight Odili."
Tami watched as Delight's expression changed from calm to concerned.

"What?...Where?...Okay."

Delight hung up, her eyes locked on Tami.

"Matthew's in the hospital," Delight said gently.
Tami's heart skipped a beat.
"Is he...?"

Delight shook her head. Critical condition."

Tami's vision blurred.
