Chapter 4

Maria's face turned red.

"Hi, neighbors!" said Brendan. He sat beside Maria.

"Hi, uh, guys." Said Maria, moving closer to Jessica.

"Hey Trishy!!! You aren't in my class..." Said Jessica, disappointed.

"Yah, it sucks. I'm in Taylor's class. it sucks though because Taylor is my only friend that is in my class..." replied Trish.

"Boys and Girly!!! Come for supper! We are having steak. Mrs. Kamel gave me some of her recipe." called Mrs. Gate.

"Mom, we have company!" Said Ethan. Everyone came inside the kitchen.

"Oh! Well, maybe that is why Mrs. Longstone called! Jessica, Maria, Dylan, and stevie, you guys have to go home. There is some news..." said Mrs. Gate, placing the veggies on the table. Jessica nodded and they ran to their house. They could smell tacos, with potatoes and radishes.

"Hey, honeys! I have good news and bad news. The good news is that it is Taco night! And The bad news is that they are shutting down the school." Said their mom, as she was sitting down.

"WHAT? WHY?" screamed Jessica and Dylan at the same time. They were so sad. They didn't want school to end. Tears came trickling down their cheeks.

"Now, now. Don't be sad. It's ok. They are closing down the school because they found mice. They are shutting it down but when the mice are clear from area, they will phone us to tell us that school is back." Said mother. They all sat down.

The kids were silent for the rest of dinner. They ate their tacos and then went to their room.

"Why mice? Why not caterpillars or butterflies?" Asked Maria, sitting on her bed.

"Maria? Mice are very popular here in Minecraftia. That's why everyone has a cat or cats. That's why we have Blocker." Replied Jessica, sitting on the floor.

"Jessica's right, Maria... So you girls... Why were you turning red when Brendan and Jake came in?" Asked Dylan, knowing the answer. He sat down on his fluffy chair.

"Because..." They both said.

"You like them!" Blurted out Stevie. Stevie was gleaming. He felt so proud he knew who they liked. Maria and Jessica just went red.
