(Basically this is a short fic of the mystery trio as kids.)
It was a blissful and young afternoon. Three pre-pubescent boys sat on a rock near a lake, shouting to the universe their hopes and desires. Two of the boys were twins, their names were Stanford and Stanley. Stanley was a bit rougher around the edges, having cuts and bruises from playing a bit too tightly outside. Stanford, however, was the opposite. He was a bit skinner, cleaner, and well groomed. A pair of glasses sat on his face. The third in the Trio was a boy a year older than them from southern Tennessee. He was also a few inches taller than them. He had a demeanor similar to Ford's except he appeared more laid back. His name was Fiddleford. The twins thought it was a joke, but little did they know it was his legal name. Fiddleford and Stanford had met during science camp a few years ago, and he just stuck around with the twins ever since they got back. The three were nearly inseparable! They were going to conquer the world together!
Stanley stood up, cupping his hands around his mouth. "Im gonna be a millionaire one day!" The young boy shouts into the sky, grinning. "Im gonna make sure mom and pop live good!"
Fiddleford then stood up to shout with Stanly. "I'm gonna be the best scientist ever!" Ford furrowed his brows.
"Nuh uh, that's gonna be me!" The two nerdy boys bickered a bit before they both sat down again, laughing it off. Stanley got distracted through, his eyes gazing off into the forest. This was a common occurrence. He began to walk to the shiny thing he spotted, the two not noticing him leave until he was well gone. Fiddleford furrowed his brows.
"Where in tarnation did Lee go?" Fiddleford stood up, looking around. Ford panicked, doing the same. The two looked around.
"Stanley?" Ford shouted, curious to where his brother wondered off to this time. They figured they'd find him in a few minutes, but that was not the case. It was dark, and there was still no sign of Stanley. Ford was on the verge of hyperventilating while Fiddleford was crying. It would seem like Ford and Fiddleford would be closer because of their matching interest, but that was the reason he liked Stanley so much. Stanley was just fun to be around, even if he did bring trouble. Ford didn't know this, but they would sometimes hang out with eachother just the two of them. Ford was quite confused on why Fiddleford was crying though.
Right as Fiddleford sat against a tree sobbing and Ford stood beside him trying to regain his sanity, Stanley appeared right beside Fiddleford holding a shiny, large, gem.
"Fiddlesticks. Why are you crying? What's wrong?" He held out the shiny substance to Fiddleford, smiling. His tooth gaps showed. "Here. I found this for you!"
The two nerdy boys were shocked. Fiddleford immediately turned to shake Stanley, not saying a word while Ford scolded him for getting lost. Fiddleford ended up hugging Stanley.
"Lee! What the darn! We were' so scared we lost ya! Don' ever do that again!" Fiddleford said, making Stan drop the gem. He just hugged back.
"Sorry fidds. I just. Saw something pretty." He mumbled. Ford just kind of stared at them, confused.
