no tw's !!!Castiel is a lonely angel. Well, he was until he met Dean. Ever since Castiel gripped Dean tight and raised him from perdition, they had grown somewhat of a 'profound bond'. They were close, and I mean, "let's cuddle, but make it a normal 'bro' thing, 'cause we're totally straight" kind of close.
Dean was in his bed, sleeping. It was around 1pm, because Dean always finds a way to sleep in whenever he can, especially because he usually has to wake up at the crack of dawn to hunt. Castiel was roaming the halls of the bunker, because he was an angel, he doesn't need sleep. He usually kept watch over someone, but Dean always said it was weird.
Cas kept walking, eventually finding Dean's door. He contemplated opening it for a moment, because it was the afternoon now, and Dean shouldn't be sleeping this long. He decided to open the door, slowly turning the nob as the door creaked open. His eyes looked over to Dean's bed, as the sunshine peeked through the curtains just enough to cover Dean's face in a warm glow of light.
Castiel took a moment to admire Dean, because Cas always thought Dean looked perfect in sunlight. In any light, really. He entered the room, gently shutting the door, as to not make too much noise. He slowly walked over to the bed, sitting on the edge of it. He watched Dean for a moment, admiring every detail on his face; from the splatter of freckles across his cheeks, to the way his hair hung messily over his forehead, and the way his lips were parted ever-so slightly.
Cas always thought Dean was pretty, but up close like this, Dean was absolutely perfect. It's like he could take his beauty and drown in it. Castiel sighed quietly, lifting his hand to brush a small strand of hair from Deans face, before moving that same hand to his shoulder, shaking him slightly.
"Dean" Castiel spoke, his voice quiet. He was trying to wake him, obviously, but not piss him off. Dean started to stir, a sleepy "what?" escaping his lips as he shifted slightly, his eyes not opening.
"Dean, wake up. It's 1pm in the afternoon." Castiel replied, his voice still gentle. Dean slowly opened his eyes, green being met with blue as they made eye contact. "Good afternoon, Dean." Castiel said with a small smile, his hand lingering on Dean's shoulder. "Afternoon, Cas." Dean replied quietly, his eyes wandering over Cas' features.Castiel moved his hand, bringing it back into his lap as he forced himself to look at something else. Dean's eyes still lingered on Cas. Dean's thoughts were a mixture of 'God, he's so pretty.' And 'I shouldn't feel this way.' He slowly sat up, his back leaning against the headboard as he yawned. Castiel's eyes drifted back to the man next to him, watching him for a moment.
"How are you feeling, Dean?" Castiel asked, as he usually always did. After all, Dean was someone he worried about a lot, from the constant injuries he gets on hunts, to the mental battles he puts up with every day.
"I'm okay, Cas." Dean replied, his emerald green eyes once again being met with Cas' oceanic blue eyes.
"Good." Was all Cas could really muster up; as he was lost in the forest that is Dean's eyes.It was moments like these that Castiel deemed extra special, because Dean was there, and he looks gorgeous, and the soft glow on his face made his hair shine with warmth, and Cas could list a million reasons why Dean was perfect. In this moment, it was them, and it was perfect.
Dean watched Cas, because there was this other-worldly, perfect being in front of him, and somewhere along the road, Dean knows he fell in love with him. Dean thought it was stupid though, because he thinks that angels can't experience that kind of love.
"Dean." Castiel suddenly said, the quiet in the room quickly withering. Cas didn't even know what he wanted to say, he just wanted to hear Dean's voice.
"Cas." Dean replied, as he tilted his head slightly. They were still looking at each other, holding eye contact, because they both could easily get lost in one another's eyes.
"Dean, I need to tell you something. It's important." Castiel spoke, finally breaking eye contact with him as he looked down to his hands. Cas thought, it's now or never, because Dean looked too perfect, and if he stayed for too long without telling him, then he could do something he might regret.
"What is it?" Dean asked, shifting slightly so he was sitting up more.
Castiel thought for a moment, thinking hard about how to put this. After a moment, he spoke again;
"Dean, I don't think you'll even feel the same way, but I need to say this, because it's important to me. However, you need to know that what I say right now, could change us forever; and right now, I don't know whether that change is good or bad." Silence fell in the small room, as both of them were thinking now.
"Cas, what is it?" Dean asked, curious now. He was scared though, because what if it's bad? He tried not to think about it.
"Dean, ever since I raised you from hell, something in me changed. I started to care. You made me care about this world, and most of all you made me care about you. Somewhere along this journey we've had together, I believe I've fallen in love with you. I can't go a day without hearing your voice, and you're just.. perfect. I don't really know how to put this, I'm not good at this stuff, but I know what I feel, Dean, and I can't run from that. I apologize." Silence. The only noise in Dean's bedroom was the faint hum and rattle of the A/C.Dean thought. His thoughts were a range of; 'Did that really just happen?' and 'Shit, I love him too.'
"Jesus, Cas. This is a lot. I think- I think I need some time to think, okay? It's not a no, I just need a minute." Dean broke the silence.
"I understand." Castiel replied, before disappearing right in front of Dean's eyes, only the flap of his wings being heard. "Shit." Dean muttered to himself, before running a hand through his hair. He didn't want Cas to leave, even if he said he needed some time. He knows he upset Cas with his response, however he did in fact need some time. Just a couple days; that's all he needs.-
It was about three days after Cas confessed, and that was enough time for Dean. He now knew what he wanted, and that was Cas. He was ready to risk his entire future just to kiss him. That was what he decided. So, now that he was ready, he figured he'd pray to Cas, because he hadn't seen him since he left that day.
"Hey, Cas. It's been a few days, and I took that time to think. I want to tell you in person, so it'd be nice if you'd drop in buddy." He prayed, and then he waited. He waited hours, and absolutely nothing. He prayed again, and again, no Castiel.-
It had been a week after Castiel confessed. Dean prayed to him every day, and nothing.
"Cas, c'mon, please. Please come back, or at least give me something. Anything. I need to see you. Please, Cas." He prayed again. After Cas didn't answer his prayers the first time, he stopped sleeping. He had tried, but he felt restless without knowing Cas was safe.-
Another week passed by, and he gave up praying, because no matter how hard he'd tried, Cas never showed. He'd only get about 2 hours of sleep every night, and the rest of that time was spent in bed, doing nothing or listening to music. Today, he decided he'd pray one last time, and if Cas didn't show, he'd have his answer. "Castiel, I need to say something to you. You wouldn't come, so this is the last time I'm calling. Cas, I fell in love with every single thing about you since we met. Of course I didn't trust you at first, but any logical human being wouldn't either. However, once we got to know each other, you became my first priority, and you became the person I was most excited to talk to every day. It's been years since we met, and I still feel a strong spark with you. Don't you? C'mon Cas, don't leave me now. I need you." He poured his feelings out into one prayer. One prayer that he hoped more than anything Castiel would respond to.
He opened his eyes, and looked around. Nothing. He sighed, before sitting back down on his bed, resting his head in his hands. He sat like that for a moment, before hearing the flutter of wings behind him. A sound he could recognize anywhere. Castiel. He quickly lifted his head, standing up and turning around, all of his movements fast.
"Cas." He spoke, his voice almost at a whisper. He was happy to see him, but then he was angry. Angry because why would Castiel leave him alone for that long when he could hear his prayers this entire time?He suddenly raised his voice, now yelling as he spoke again;
"Jesus, Cas. Why in the hell would you leave? You could hear my prayers this whole fucking time and you never came?" He pushed Castiel against the nearest wall, pinning him there as he yelled.
"Dean. You needed space." Castiel replied, his voice calm.
"Castiel I called you back like ten times and you never showed!" Dean yelled again.
"I was scared. I was scared of what you would say, so I didn't come back." Cas spoke honestly. Dean lessened his grip, moving away from Cas, as Cas took a small step away from the wall when Dean let him go.
"I needed you. You can't just do that. I was worried about you." Dean muttered, his voice quiet as his gaze shifted to the floor.
"Dean. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all of this. However, I heard your prayer. Dean." Castiel admitted, as the room fell quiet.Dean's head was a mess. he didn't know what to do, or say, so he ended up saying something stupid;
"I need you, Cas." Dean confessed, as he slowly walked closer to Cas.
"Come here." Castiel replied, urging Dean to come closer; and he did. Soon enough their lips met, as Cas' hands snaked around Dean's waist, and Dean's hands rest on Castiel's neck. Their bodies fit perfectly together, as if they were made for each other. This may sound cliche, but they both felt fireworks.
