Chapter 26

The hideout is dimly lit, with the group gathered in the common area. Sero has set up the karaoke machine, and Kaminari is already flipping through songs with excitement. Snacks and drinks are scattered across the table, and the atmosphere is light and full of anticipation.

Kaminari grins as he selects the first song, his energy already through the roof. "Alright, I'm going first! Prepare to be blown away, people!"

Rose leans back in her seat, smirking as she watches him. "You're going to make a fool of yourself, aren't you?"

Kaminari laughs, "Absolutely. But in the best way possible."

Kaminari grabs the mic, the opening chords of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance blaring from the speakers. He launches into the song with enthusiasm, belting out the lyrics with dramatic flair, even attempting some of the dance moves from the music video.

Rose laughs, shaking her head as Kaminari gets way too into the performance. "He's really going for it, huh?"

Bakugo crosses his arms, sitting back with a smirk. "He looks like a damn idiot."

Kirishima laughs, "Yeah, but you gotta admit, he's having fun."

The group can't help but laugh as Kaminari finishes the song with a dramatic flourish, tossing the mic to Kirishima. "Top that!"

Kirishima takes the mic, flipping through the songs until he settles on something that matches his style: Eye of the Tiger by Survivor. The room gets serious as Kirishima takes his stance, ready to deliver a performance full of passion and manly energy.

"This one's for all the bros out there!" Kirishima declares, his voice full of excitement as the first chords play. "Let's get pumped!"

Rose grins, already feeling the hype. "Oh, this is going to be good."

Kirishima sings with full force, his voice rising with the music. "IT'S THE EYE OF THE TIGER, IT'S THE THRILL OF THE FIGHT!" He pumps his fist, getting everyone in the room to cheer along with him.

Bakugo watches with a raised eyebrow but doesn't hide his amusement. "Damn, idiot's treating it like a workout."

Sero grins, "You know he's all about that manly energy."

Sero steps up next, scrolling through the song list until he finds something that makes him grin. "Alright, I'm taking it up a notch." He selects Highway to Hell by AC/DC, and the group cheers as the familiar guitar riff kicks in.

The group gets into it, headbanging and cheering as Sero rocks out, jumping around the room like a rockstar. Even Bakugo can't help but chuckle as Sero gives an exaggerated guitar solo.

Kirishima laughs, "Sero's really feeling this one!"

Rose grins, "He's killing it!"

After Sero finishes, the group turns their attention to Bakugo, who is sitting back with his arms crossed, clearly not interested in participating.

"Alright, Bakugo, you're up!" Kaminari says with a grin, holding out the mic.

Bakugo responds gruffly, "Not happening, dumbasses."

Rose smirks, sensing an opportunity. "Come on, Bakugo. You don't have to sing. How about you rap? It's technically not singing."

The rest of the group joins in, cheering for Bakugo to at least give it a try. "Yeah, Bakugo! Just rap something! You've got the voice for it!" Kirishima adds, trying to hype him up.

Bakugo narrows his eyes, clearly not convinced. "You're all idiots."

Rose teases, "What's the matter? Scared you'll lose your cool?"

Bakugo smirks, "You wish."

Despite their best efforts, Bakugo shakes his head, refusing to participate. But the group can tell he's enjoying watching everyone else make fools of themselves.

Rose stands up, stretching as she grabs the mic. "Alright, if Bakugo's too chicken to do it, I guess I'll have to show you how it's done."

Kaminari grins, "Ooh, what's she picking?"

Rose scrolls through the songs until she finds what she's looking for: Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine. "This one's for all of you rebels out there," she says with a smirk as the opening guitar riff blares from the speakers.

Rose throws herself into the song, her voice loud and defiant as she belts out the lyrics. "KILLING IN THE NAME OF!"

The group immediately gets into it, headbanging along with her and throwing up their middle fingers as the chorus hits. "FUCK YOU, I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!"

Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero shout along with her, their energy matching hers as they throw their arms in the air. Even Bakugo, sitting back, can't help but chuckle as he watches the group get riled up.

Bakugo smirks, shaking his head. "You guys are a damn mess."

As the group winds down from the song, Rose's phone buzzes in her pocket. She pulls it out, seeing Todoroki's name on the screen. For a moment, she hesitates, but then she looks around at the group—Kaminari's still laughing, Kirishima's talking animatedly to Sero, and Bakugo is watching from the side, his usual scowl replaced with a faint grin.

She declined the call, slipping the phone back into her pocket.

Rose leans back against the couch, watching the group as they joke around. For the first time in a while, she feels completely at ease. Bakugo catches her eye, and they share a brief, knowing look—something unspoken but comforting.

I'm actually enjoyingthis, she thinks, glancing back at her phone. No need for distractions tonight.
