"I've never felt this way... Ever! In my whole damn life, NEVER!" I muttered to my as I stared at my ugly reflection in the mirror. I stood makeup-less, staring at my naked body. "Is it that I'm ugly? Is that it?"
I felt like I was going crazy as I talked to my own reflection. Exasperated, I dropped down on the floor and leaned against the blank white wall of her bathroom. The coldness seeping through my skin. My phone pinged and I slid up to see the texts from my best friend, Hannah.
Girl!
Where are you?
We're waiting here.
Hurry up.
Fuck, rush!
Are you coming or not?
I rushed to my room and opened my closet, rushing through all the piles of disorganized clothes. I picked out a random dress that caught my eye and laid it out on my bed. It was a pink monochromatic A-line dress with deep wide neck, held up by two thin strings and landed on my knees. That'll do, she thought. I paired them up with simple white sneakers, a cheap silver necklace. I got ready with a messy bun, pink yet smokey eyes and hot pink lips. I glanced at myself in the mirror, smirking. It was hot yet casual. I did think I was ugly but not tonight. I rushed out, grabbing spare keys to my home.
"And where are you going?"
I froze and turned to face my mom. My mother, Sasha stood with her arms crossed in front of her chest. I looked almost identical to her. Tall, curvy and deep chocolate eyes but only I was a brunette like my dad and she was a blonde.
I looked down, "I'm just..."
She cut me off, "Where? No lying!"
I finally said, "To the movies."
She raised an eyebrow, "With?"
I looked at her hesitantly, "With my friends."
Sasha walks up to her, "Wearing this? What are you thinking?"
She went and opened a small cabinet. She took something out and stood back up. I looked at her carefully. Mom handed me a pepper spray and a pocket stun gun, "I knew you would forget it." She winked.
I smiled, "Thanks mum!"
I turned around and rushed outside as mom yelled from behind me, "Don't hurt an innocent! Have fun!" I chuckled as I drove myself to the movies.
"You're so late!" Hannah said.
I smiled, "More like almost. It still hasn't started!" Hannah rolled her eyes as I settled down.
"What are we even watching?" Derek asked. He was the "dumb" jock with sexy muscles and veiny hands. Just for the record, the word "dumb" didn't do him any justice because although he loved playing football, he wanted to get into med school and be a doctor one day.
"Top Gun: Maverick, for sure!", replied Hunter, the popular dude, his only talent was that he looked good. He was also the only and beloved son of the mayor of the city, but that's not exactly a talent now, is it?
Karen -who sat on Hunter's lap- whined, "No, babe! Not that, please?!"
She continued, "You can watch that one next time! Since we're here with our friends, why don't we just watch The Pale Blue Eye? I've heard it's pretty good. It'll be so much fun." She seductively slid her hand up his chest and he replied, "Fine! What say, Jeremy?"
Jeremy, with dreamy green eyes and flowy blonde hair spoke, "I'm good with anything." He was the playboy. The girls at school drooled over his southern accent.
