Why does he even hate you exactly?

He didn't know when or where it began to be precise, but all he knew was that he hated you. Iguro always felt like you're trying so hard to seek for something, he knew how determined you are  to go through things and call it a day. It was something that he hated, he hated how you simply think that everything can be done according to your thinking.

How can you be so cocky? So confident that you'll be able to do something when in fact you're just a weak demon slayer, he didn't even know how you climbed up so fast unlike Mitsuri who had a few struggles back then. How can someone like you, climb up the ranks so fast? Mitsuri couldn't do it without crying here and there, she couldn't do it in one go. The love pillar had a few hiccups.

But you..

"Iguro-san?" Mitsuri's voice reached his hearing the moment he entered the butterfly estate.

Obanai looked over at her in slight curiosity "What brings you here, Kanroji?"

The love pillar seems to be stiff as she looked at him, it was always like that for her. How she couldn't put some words into her mouth and say something immediately, Mitsuri is cute. No one can deny that.

"I am simply visiting Kochou-san" she answered, her voice almost in a whisper at how silent she stated her reasons.

Mitsuri is strong, unlike you. You're too weak, too weak for his liking. How can you be so weak? How-

"I see that you are here to treat these wounds?" Shinobu asked which snapped him back to reality "The butterfly girls will have you treated immediately."

The so called girls went to his aid in a swift motion, they were quick to guide him in a room where they can do their work. Shinobu didn't follow along though, as she didn't find any reasons to talk to him. She hated how he's been treating you and he knows that for some reason. Mitsuri though, despite being warned by the insect pillar not to disrupt Iguro's treatment decided that it was fine to snoop around.

The love pillar went inside the room in worry for the serpent pillar, it has always been this way. Mitsuri always come by whenever he's injured just to check if he's fine, but today was a bit different since she happens to be in the butterfly estate just in time for him to get treated. He seems to be meeting her often just like before, unlike you Mitsuri has always been someone who cared for him.

That's why he loved Mitsuri, it has always been that way.

....

In those swift movements did the silent girl watch in awe as the boy with a unique breathing technique finished off the demon, her eyes sparkling in intrigue as she caught up with his speed.

"Obanai-san" the girl breathed out "That was cool!"

The said boy simply looked at her with a soft look with a hint of worry in his expression, despite the bandages that covered the frown his mouth displayed. [First Name] knew that he was concerned at her well-being.

"You are so reckless" Obanai told her worriedly "How can you not realize that there was another demon trailing behind your back?"

At this moment, the girl simply blinked at him before grinning sheepishly.

" I may or may not have noticed that" she answered sheepishly as she looks away from him.

Her partner simply shook his head in disbelief " You are insufferable, are you aware of that? "

" Hey! "

•••

" Hey! " his furious voice reached her hearing once more, making her flinch at how mad he had been.

She just came back from a mission in which she was partnered with Kanroji, the girl [First Name] knew that her best friend had a crush on. Her eyes looked over at him as she carried her unconscious body towards the butterfly estate.

" She.. " before she could say something, Mitsuri's eyes slowly opened after being unconscious for a good three hour. Her eyes flickered above [First Name] who carried her.

And before the poor girl could register everything, Mitsuri was taken away from her hold as Obanai harshly said some words she thought he didn't mean to say.

"Have you gotten so weak that you can't even slice a demon's head off? Must you be paired with Mitsuri and make her suffer? How could you be so irresponsible?"

Her eyes watched him move quickly, her body quivering from her friend's weight earlier. She was injured too, can't he see that? Why did he even say those words?

"Why..?"

Her treatment was quick as Shinobu was the one to her aid, while her sister Kanae treated Mitsuri on the other room.

"That Kanroji girl is a mess" she glowered at [First Name] before looking at the wounds she's treating "I do not understand why you keep on blaming yourself when you were already exhausted in the fight."

That was true, it was [First Name] who did what she could to finish that lower moon so Mitsuri didn't have to work much due to her being so emotional during the fight. She was scared that the girl with a love breathing technique might break if she didn't handle almost everything.

"Does Iguro-san know about that fact?" Shinobu asked her once more in a frustrated voice "Isn't he your best friend? Why is he suddenly siding with an incompetent slayer?"

[First Name] never knew why, but it was something she didn't want to dig in to. Everything was too much for her at the moment, and she didn't want to bother herself with further stress. She would have to deal with him later on, and comfort him for whatever worries he had for her.

But even that thought died the moment Obanai pushed her away angrily from him "Weak, so incompetent ."

"How are you feeling after being treated so easily while she has to suffer from all of your incompetence?"

Her brows furrowed "I am nowhere near incompetent."

But he didn't listen to her. Instead, he laughed at her words as if it was some kind of joke.

"Yeah right, talk about being too much for your team that she has to be injured so much just to save your butt from a lower moon. What happened to you?"
