I am an NPC with my own consciousness!!!!!
I am one of the characters known as NPCs (Non-Player Characters). A "person" programmed to carry out a specific role.
However, I am self-aware.
I've never met anyone like me before, so this must be a miracle that only happens to me. That's what I vaguely think.
But just because I have consciousness doesn't mean I have freedom. This is likely because the protagonist of this game is the player, not an NPC like me.
When the game begins, the player selects a profession based on their combat style (which can change later), and then they search for a fighting style that suits them.
Since this game is an MMO, forming a party with others is essential. For low-difficulty quests, you can solo, but for higher-difficulty missions, this becomes absolutely necessary.
There are various roles such as Tank (defender), Attacker (main damage dealer), Healer (healing), and Supporter (support), and it's important to be aware of these roles as you "level up" in the game.
It doesn't help to have everyone be attackers; we need to think about balance.
Meanwhile, one of the unique aspects of this game is the party system.
This system allows you to create your own NPC with a race and profession of your choice. This enables each player to express their individuality.
Since it's an NPC, it isn't controlled by a human, but by AI. As a result, sometimes it acts unpredictably, but in an era where VRMMOs are powerful enough to develop with science, it comes equipped with a useful AI.
Some players create NPCs purely for offense and focus on raw firepower.
Some players, in pursuit of balance within the party, create an NPC healer while they play as the tank.
Other players choose to be the healer and create their NPC teammate as a supporter, and then work together in a party with other players.
Additionally, there are players who choose to be the supporter and assign their NPC to be the tank to protect them. And I am exactly that type.
I was created as a human race NPC, with the profession of a tanker. More importantly, I was designed to have the appearance of a beautiful female warrior with black hair and red eyes.
Perhaps because my master is a supporter with limited combat abilities in this world, I joined the party system immediately as the game began. I'm sure he was at a low level when I first met him.
He put all his heart into creating his character, and the moment we met, I felt quite awkward when I noticed him looking over my entire body. If you try to touch someone inappropriately, you'll receive a warning for harassment. He once tried to touch my chest and was immediately issued a warning. After that, he didn't try to touch me again, but his eyes kept glancing at my chest, clearly showing that he wasn't the most "decent" guy.
Once he was satisfied with my appearance, we toured the town where they would be stationed.
Since he was still a beginner, he didn't buy anything in the shops because he had no money, but I could see that he was still very excited. He looked at the equipment, setting a goal to one day own it, and nodded in approval while examining the tools that would be useful for his adventures.
After exploring the city, we decided to head out and try our first battle. Although the game is based on forming a party, small adventures can even be done solo.
The first battle was strange. Looking back now, it was terrifying.
Perhaps wanting to try out different things as a supporter, my master diligently cast buffs to enhance defense and attack power. Because of this, the monsters' "aggro" points toward him skyrocketed, and all the monsters attacked him. Well, thanks to me quickly activating a skill that redirected the monsters' aggro onto myself, he didn't die. You could say I'm a capable woman. Anyway, I wonder if he regretted quickly draining all his MP on buffs, leaving him unable to continue fighting.
