Linsette was a quiet girl. She was pretty, short hair and honey amber eyes. She had a nice family: a mother and a twin brother. Her brother's name was Luke. He was a handsome boy, just like Linsette, he had short hair, and matching honey amber eyes.
They never parted from each other, hands intertwined, door steps constantly in sync with each other, nothing about them was different, so why, why was it just Linsette that was taken, that night in the rain.
They had been invited to a movie: a scary movie about a pair of evil twins. Linsette didn't like scary movies, but Luke made her go. "It'll be fun, Sister." He said. "You don't like scary movies either, brother..." She said sitting on her bed. "Its never to late to try new things." Luke smiled, knowing she was completely right. He peed his pants the first time he watched a scary movie, but, he had to be strong. A girl had invited them to go. Rachel. She was a lovely girl, she could have any boy she wanted to, to go with her that night. She had chosen Luke and even better she let Linsette go. So, despite his sister's warning that it wasn't the smartest idea, they both dressed in nice clothes and left for the movie theater.
It wasn't long before they found Rachel and her two friends, Malcolm and Karey. They were a couple, a nice, but shady couple, and everyone knew that they were into all kinds of drugs. Rachel grabbed his hand and dragged him into the movie, pulling his so fast and that he accidentally released Linsette's hand. "Lin!" He looked back... His beloved sister was gone. He turned to Rachel, to tell her Linsette was gone... But, he was already seated inside the theater room before he could speak. "Linsette is gone." He whispered quietly. Rachel told him to watch the movie and... He must have fallen asleep because when He woke, he was in a hospital, Malcolm and Karey were there... But, when did they change clothes? Malcolm was wearing black pants and a white coat and Karey was wearing all blue and injecting a sort of.... Drug into his IV. "Is that morphine?" Malcolm asked, Karey nodded."To help him sleep." "Malcolm?!" He croaked, his voice strained against the lulling sleep of the morphine. Malcolm looked at him. "How do you know my name?" His friend didn't recognize him? "Where is Rachel? And Linsette?" Malcolm looked at Karey.
"Rachel? The therapist?"
"No... Rachel, a girl I go to school with... We were just at the movies..."
"I am sorry, Luke. The only Rachel you have had contact with is the therapist..." Malcolm tries to explain.
"You don't go to school." Karey continued. Luke felt like he was being suffocated as he fell asleep.
Meanwhile, in the hall way, Luke's mother stood crying her eyes out for her soon as Malcolm exited the room. "Is there any hope for him...?" She asked quietly.
"Its possible He will make a full recovery." He paused, glancing into Luke's room. "Does the name Linsette mean anything to you?"
His mother turned as white as a sheet. "I thought he would put grow it... " She mumbled quietly. "He hasn't talked about her to me in years.... You see Luke had a sister... She was a quiet, very pretty girl, with the same short hair and honey Amber eyes as Luke. They were inseparable, always hand in hand where ever they went. But... About 7 years ago, My husband took Luke and his sister out for ice cream, some one had cut the breaks on his car.... My husband and daughter were pronounced dead on the scene and Luke had some cuts and a sprained wrist, but nothing else.... Her body... Sheilded him from the impact..." The woman wiped her eyes. "So, your seven , at the time, year old son, Created a girl named Linsette to fill the void losing his sister left?" The woman shook her head no. " Dr. Ryans, you don't understand.."
"Please call me Malcolm.."
"Malcolm, Linsette wasn't an invention... She was his sister..."
