"You're leaving?"
Tenko asked the girl who stuffed her backpack with as many plush toys as she could.

She nodded,
"Mhm! My parents said I could get ice cream on the way home too!"

The girl only stayed at the school on the weekdays, on the weekends, she'd return home with her parents, them being eager to see her progress every week.

All you really did was help her with her impulse control, helping her figure out how to control her urges while not burying them all. With the downright morbid thoughts she had, you knew it'd be dangerous for her to try bottle time up. You could only imagine what might happen if something caused her to go off, all of those thoughts exploding outwards.

You gave the girl a hug before she left,
"Remember Himiko, think before you act, and if anyone thinks your smile is weird..."

The girl grinned widely,
"Then they suck!"

"Atta girl,"
You ruffled her hair and sent her off, watching her run off towards her parent's car, the girl yelling her goodbyes to you and Tenko.

The car drove off, and Tenko let out a sad sigh. Who'd he play with during the weekend now? Plus, you didn't even address his quirk at all this week!

"Tenko, could you follow me to my office? I have something special prepared for you,"

He tilted his head, wondering what it could be, and followed you across the building.

The office was full of decorations, with balloons spelling out the word adoption.

"I didn't have enough letters for 'happy', but you get the idea!"

He stood in silence for a while before looking up at you,
"D-does this mean you're my dad now?!"

You nodded,
"Or just your guardian. Your choice. You can call me dad or Mr. (Y/n), it's all up to you,"

Tenko appreciated how much freedom you gave him, but he really wished you'd just decide for him at this moment. He had no idea how to think of you now! Especially with the way his father used to treat him, he wasn't so sure if he was ready for another dad.

But at the same time, he could already tell you were so much better than that man.

"I also have all your legal documents now, which opens up a whole new world of positives! I've opened up a savings account for you, it'll be good if you decide to go to college. Oh! I also have you set up for a doctor's appointment too. Don't worry, I've already told them about..."

You kept going on and on about all the new 'exciting' things Tenko could do now that you had officially adopted him, and all he could wonder was how someone could seem so excited about all that stuff.

Still, he was pretty stoked about legally belonging somewhere.

Suddenly you gasped,
"Oh, I've lost track of time!"

You headed to the sliding glass doors of your office, and opened them, stepping outside and staring at the sky.

Tenko followed you, confused. What were you looking at?
