Abandoned

Chapter 1

The day Anthony was born, his biological mother left him in the hospital without a word. It was only 4 hours later when the nurse went to check the baby's vitals and found him completely alone. She immediately took the baby to the receptionist and called Child Protective Services. A social worker showed up 2 hours later.  After talking to the nurse and the receptionist, the social worker put the baby in a car seat and left the hospital. They arrived at the orphanage 20 minutes later.

"Who's this?" The woman who ran the orphanage asked upon seeing the baby and the social worker.

"He doesn't have a name, he was abandoned at the hospital. He's only a few hours old." The social worker said. The woman who ran the orphanage looked at the baby.

"Well we need to give you a name." She said taking the baby from the social worker. She gently took him out of the car seat and smiled at him. "You look like an Anthony, do you want to be Anthony?" The baby smiled and kicked his tiny feet. The woman who runs the orphanage thanked the social worker and took Anthony to the nursery. The next day was adoption day, prospective parents came to the orphanage to hopefully help a child find their forever family. On this particular day, a young couple walked into the orphanage and walked over to the nursery. They walked over to 2 different babies, one of them being Anthony.

"Isaac, do we want a boy or a girl?" The young woman asked the man she came in with.

"Girl, we already have a son." The man, who I assumed was Isaac told her. The woman walked away from Anthony and over to the baby girl Isaac was holding. "She's perfect" The couple decided to adopt the baby and left.

A few months later, Anthony was sitting in his high chair eating bananas and carrots when a young woman, who couldn't have been no older than 16 years old walked in to the orphanage. She walked into the woman who ran the orphanages office. They were in there for a good 20 minutes before the young woman walked out of the office and over to Anthony.

"I'll be back for you as soon as your room is ready." She said kissing the top of his head. "I love you Anthony." She left the orphanage and went home to get Anthony's room ready. She was gonna be a mommy, she couldn't wait. She'd saw her baby in a dream and had to have him in her life.

A few weeks later, she went back to the orphanage to pick up her son. She couldn't wait to hold her baby. She walked the orphanage.

"Mrs. Williams?" She asked looking around. The woman who runs the orphanage walked over to her.

"Hi Emily." She said. "Are you here to pick up Anthony?"

"Yes. I'm excited to finally take my baby home." Emily said. Mrs. Williams took Emily into her office to fill out the necessary paperwork for her to officially adopt Anthony. When they were done, Emily and Mrs. Williams walked out of the office and Emily walked over to Anthony and picked him up. "Hi baby boy. I'm gonna be your mommy." She told him. Mrs. Williams helped her get Anthony's stuff into the car and tearfully said goodbye to Anthony.
