A/N idk what this is actually like so sorry if I got it wrong
Vertigo: a sensation of motion or spinning that is often described as dizziness. People with vertigo feel as though they are actually spinning or moving, or the world is spinning or moving around them
Tinnitus: severe ringing or noise in ears that does not come from outside noiseEver since Taylor had got into that car accident when she was younger, she suffered from vertigo and tinnitus. Long story short, she had shattered her jaw and when in surgery to help it heal they had messed something up, resulting in this.
Not many people knew that Taylor had these episodes; she tended to keep it a secret. They had died down as she got older, only happening once a month or so, but recently she had been noticing more flare ups.
She had yet to tell Travis yet, mainly because she didn't want him to see her differently. However having an episode was usually quite scary, especially if she was alone, and so she knew she needed to talk to him soon.
It was tuesday morning and Taylor was making breakfast whilst Travis showered. She was flipping pancakes in a pan, one of Travis's tshirts on over a pair of shorts and her hair in a messy bun.
She flipped another pancake, humming along to the song when suddenly she felt it. The horrible feeling that she knew all too well. She slowly turned off the hob, setting down the pan. She took a deep breath, trying to stay calm as the world started to spin around her. The ringing in her ears intensified until she couldn't hear anything else, couldn't think, just that sound slicing through her brain.
She carefully lowered herself to the floor, leaning against the cabinet and closing her eyes. She breathed deeply, trying to ignore the spinning room. In... And out. In... And out. In... And out.
Just then Travis entered the room, sniffing the air like a dog; he loved pancakes. But as soon as he saw his girlfriend on the floor he rushed to her side, kneeling down next to her. He tried to talk to her, tried to ask her questions but she didn't understand, her eyes still squeezed tightly shut. He sat next to her, his arm around her shoulders as her hand squeezed his.
Eventually the episode ended and Taylor collapsed onto Travis, promptly fainting. That usually happened after an episode so Taylor was used to it, however Travis was not. He quickly laid her on the floor, tapping her cheek gently and trying to get her to wake up.
Finally, after what felt like forever, she came to. She squinted up at the bright light as Travis helped her sit up.
"What happened? Are you okay? Do you need to go to the hospital?" Travis bombarded her with questions as Taylor's hands went to her head, massaging her temples. After most episodes a headache would follow, as well as her just feeling exhausted."I'm fine, I don't need a hospital. Um, I'm going to go and have a quick nap, we can talk after?" Taylor mumbled, slowly rising to her feet. Travis nodded, helping her up the stairs and into bed. He was worried out of his mind, but he left her there to sleep.
A couple of hours later Taylor woke, alone. She got out of bed, slipping a jumper on and making her way downstairs.
"Hey baby, how are you feeling?" Travis greeted her as she entered the kitchen.
"Good, can we talk please?" Taylor asked, going to sit down on the sofa.
"Of course baby!" Travis agreed, sitting next to her."So, um, when I was little, I got into a car accident and I broke my jaw. Then after that I started getting episodes of intense vertigo and tinnitus, usually followed by fainting. The doctors wasn't sure what it was so I've just had to live with it, it didn't use to be that bad but recently it's been getting worse. I'm sorry I didn't tell you" Taylor explained, not meeting Travis's eyes.
"Thank you for telling me baby, maybe if it's getting worse you should go and see a doctor?" Travis asked and Taylor nodded.
"Could you tell me more about it? So I know how to help you?""Um, I can feel it coming, and I usually sit down so I don't fall over. Then everything is spinning so I have to close my eyes and I usually can't hear anything because of the noise in my ears. Then I faint, and after I wake up I usually have a headache and I am very tired. It can be quite scary. So... Yeah" Taylor met his eyes anxiously, worried about what he was thinking.
"Taylor, you know you can tell me anything, right? We're a team, we're in this together. I'd never ever judge you or treat you differently, I just want to help" he pressed a kiss to Taylor's forehead. They'd be in this together, as a team.A/N part 2?
