                                                                  I Need Somebody - DAY6

Silence. Or noise? That's almost always a question on Jisung's mind when he visits here. He only comes here alone, to listen to the silence, or to enjoy the noise. Slowly, he sits down on the soft sand, not caring about the microscopic stones entering his shoes and clothes at all. Jisung watches the strong waves thundering against the shore and the high cliff next to the small, unkwown beach he is at.

Once, he had stood on this cliff, the wind had been bashing his thoughts around his brain even more fast than usual and the subtle grass on the uneven ground had felt comfortable under his tired feet. Jisung could still hear their conversation, just a blurr of memories, pleasingly ringing in his ears. They had talked about one thing that day that Jisung could remember clearly enough to play it in his head every time his restless eyes catch the enourmous cliff.

"You would never leave me alone, would you?" "Why are you asking this question Jisung, you know I could never let you alone, only over my dead body" the boy caressed Jisung's soft cheek with his palm as his brown beautiful eyes stared into the younger's thruthfully. "Never"

Yeah, never he had said. It was a word Jisung actually learned not to believe in early in his life. 'I will never tell anyone' of course, that's why the whole school knew the day after, Hyunjin-'I would never leave your side baby' yeah sure mom, that's why you left for a new life, without me, somewhere in fucking America. 'Never' is a word which is just as problematic in use as ' Always'. How can one say that something is 'Always' or 'Never', it's all unpredictable isn't it?

But he had believed him, had thought they would stay together, grow old together, die together. He had given credence to his words from hardly half a year ago, neither Jisung nor his dear companion  had known the future which had become the bitter past by now.

Jisung averts his gaze from the fateful cliff, looking at the raging sea in front of him. Tha salty water matching his salty tears, both wettening the sand and shells lying around the now trembling boy.

But one thing he knows for sure, the thinks to himself,

Jisung will never really be alive again and Minho will never really be dead, just like the noise will never be loud again and the silence will never be quiet.
