I could feel the vibration of the loud music as soon as I stepped out of my car. Hannah had been in my car while Hunter, Karen, Jeremy and Derek were in Hunter's Mercedes. I checked my phone and it was already 9:45.
I glanced at Jeremy as I was reminded of what he said, I knew he was right, we were gonna be sitting in the lecture tomorrow with a massive headache for sure.
He caught my eye and gave me his signature smirk, knowing what I was thinking. Actually, he was kinda pretty. I tore my eyes away from him as we made our way in.
Since it was Hunter's cousin's club, he was obviously the VIP and so, we were led to a private section of the club reserved for VIP guests.
The music was just as loud, but the area was more secluded and intimate, with plush couches and dim lighting. We settled at a corner booth with Karen curled up against Hunter, Jeremy and Derek sitting across from Hannah and I, as Hunter ordered for a round of drinks.
The waitress nodded, disappearing into the crowd as the music continued to pulse around us. I noticed how Derek's gaze followed the waitress and Jeremy nudged him with me raising a brow at him. "What? She's hot." He just shrugged. I dragged Hannah to the dance floor after we chugged our drinks.
The music was infectious, and soon Hannah and I were lost, dancing and laughing without a care in the world. It felt good to let loose and forget about the stress of life.
Eventually, I caught a glimpse of Jeremy with another blonde on the dance floor while Hannah and I returned to the bar for more drinks. I wanted to have all the fun I could have tonight. The bartender looked us up and down before giving us a charming smile.
Hannah was already tipsy. She banged the table with her fists, "Shots! Shots! Shots!" I laughed as I nodded to the bartender.
The bartender grinned and quickly lined up a row of shot glasses, filling them with a clear liquid that burned on the way down.
Hannah and I clinked our glasses together before downing the first shot, wincing at the taste. But as the alcohol started to flow through my veins, I began to loosen up even more, my inhibitions fading away. I felt bolder, more confident, and more than a little reckless.
Hannah and I danced and laughed, flirting with the bartender and anyone else who caught our eye. And for a while, I forgot all about Drake and Jeremy and how I was failing most of my classes.
But then, as if on cue, he appeared on the dance floor. With a particularly vengeful brunette on his arm. He was smiling, he was laughing. Why didn't he laugh like this with me.
As if he senses me watching him, Drake's eyes strained to mine and his smile visibly fell. Bella's gaze followed and soon, the couple was glaring at me.
But I was drunk and reckless, so I took advantage of that. I walked straight towards them with a smirk on me face, my gaze burning into his. Bella must've thought I was gonna make a scene because she soon plastered herself into Drake, trying to hide from me. I wanted to laugh at her. If she felt so scared of me, why did she do all this?
But instead of stopping in front of them, I walked straight past them and into the crowd. Trying to find Hannah was a lost cause, she must have already found a guy she wanted for the night and must've left.
I noticed the song. It was one of my favorites. "Good as Hell" by Lizzo was blaring through the speakers, and I felt the infectious beat take over my body. I threw my hands up in the air and let the music wash over me, moving to the rhythm with wild abandon.
But I don't know why, I felt tears prick my eyes. I wiped them aggressively away and went to get another drink. I got 3 more shots of vodka before I was feel light again.
