I had been waiting long enough by myself in this cell, "Can I please come out now?" I asked Daryl.

"Yeah, don't do anythin rash or I'll toss ya out again." He grunted.

"Alright Daryl." I said, annoyed.

I walked into the cell and I saw Grace sitting up against the wall. "Thanks for not ripping my stitches." She laughed.

"Shoot I totally forgot about that, I was doing CPR- I didn't hurt anything right?" I was nervous she would have to be stitched up again again.

"Idiot. I just thanked you for not ripping them!" She teased me.

"Gee sorry I thought you were being 'sarcastic'" I rolled my eyes and made little air quotes. "Maybe let me handle the trespassers next time, cause it seems like they took your breath away!"

"You think you're so fucking funny huh? Funny funny funny!" She yelled. "And a-that a-was a-sarcasm. Boom!" She cackled.

"Dad, what happened out there?" I called him into the room. He walked over to Daryl to get him to take over our "new guests".

"My god, it's a long story. We ran out in different ways to sneak up on whoever was shooting. Along the way I had been with Axel and Maggie. We haven't really explored that back part of the prison, so we were just opening random doors, to find one that led outside. What we found in the janitors closet-" he stopped and chuckled with a beaming smile on his face "Carol. We found Carol. We gave her some water and an energy bar. She was and still is messed up. She's been gone for a week and a half, miracle that she's still with us. We soon figured out our enemy was the governer. He burst into our fences with a truck full of walkers. We were all tirelessly aiming at each other, until a bullet hit, Axel. I'm so sorry Grace, but he didn't make it. He went out protecting Carol." My dad said sadly.

"He was my favorite. He was so good, he didn't deserve to be in here in the first place. He deserved more, and when I get the chance I'm helping you take down this governor." She said with tears rolling down her sick and pale face.

"We shot out their men up in our towers, and they finally retreated. There's a lot of damage. I don't know how we will fix that gate, or if we can keep the ones right outside the cell block up if all the walkers are in the yard. We're just gonna need help. Carl, you and Beth will come to help." He said to us, then to me.

"Grace you, Carol, and Judith will stay here. You'll both have a gun, and a walkie talkie to reach us if you need any of us at all. A person in each 'team' out there will have one or two. So we will hear you. Grace, if anything goes bad, put Judith under the bed and lock your cell. You'll be safe from walkers. We've put those people in a different cell block with the supervision of Daryl. While we work outside we're gonna switch shifts with everyone." He told Grace specifically.

"I wish I could help. I need to be able to help!" She shouted in frustration.

"Hey it's okay. You helped my mom, that's why you're hurt. It's okay, you helped plenty. Don't worry." I said as I rubbed her thumb, she just looked up at me with a sad smile.

"It's never going to be enough for me. I hope you all know that." She said.

My dad got up and left the room and gathered everyone up to assume their positions. "Maggie and Michonne, you guys have to make sure no new walkers come in. Here's some riot gear. Be careful." My dad said.

"Daryl is watching those people. Hershel will go to switch with Daryl now. Daryl, Carl, and I will work on fixing that gate. Beth and Glenn you guys will work on clearing the walkers in the prison yard. I'll send Carl over quite a bit, mmm he'll be more useful to you. Now everyone, get ready. We're headed outside." My dad bravely announced.

For the first time in all the shit I've faced, I was scared. For the first time I was headed into the complete unknown.

I passed Graces cell, and I looked at her as I walked. She looked scared, like she just wanted to scream "Don't leave me!" but she stared sadly and nodded at me, trying to tell me to go.

I walked outside to see the horrors of what happened to our new home. Daryl and my dad followed Maggie and Michonne to the broken gate, and I stayed behind killing a few walkers. I made it up to them and they told me to run and get some logs outside the gate. I wasn't ever scared, not even when I was little. I didn't feel safe going out there, yet I still went out.

I ran out into the forest area and struggled to grab the huge logs, that I know we needed. I started to pull some of them away, but I couldn't get them far. they were long and heavy, I was just one person and walkers were starting to come up on me.

Maggie pulled up to me in the truck and jumped out to help me load it up. She pulled it up into the truck as I used my gun on the walkers that were just too close.

We ended up getting 3 logs, and I jumped in the front seat with Maggie as we quickly drove back in the gates.

"Carl? Maggie? Glenn? Somebody- please- help!" I heard the static noise with this radio transmission. It was Grace.

"Yes? Grace, what's wrong?!" I answered back.

"Ahh! Walkers, lots of them. They're in the prison. Carrol has they keys to the cells, she's asleep and I can't get up. I can't protect anyone or the baby! Please- please help!" she said cryptically.

I sprinted to my dad and told him what was going on.

"Daryl, leave those people in the other cell block. Lock them up. Get over to ours fast, there's walkers and Grace cant lock up the cells! Hurry! Carl, Maggie go. Go get Beth and Glenn to help you guys fight em. Hershel, Michonne and I will stay out here. Wait- Daryl, come outside we don't got enough people." my dad said.

I sprinted to Glenn and Beth pushing past walkers and leaving Maggie struggling to catch up to me. Glenn and Beth started running with me.

After running with all I had, I reached the outside of the cell block when my walkie went off.

"Carl. bring everyone else. It's not walkers. It's worse." I heard Grace say over the walkie

"Grace, Grace what do you mean? Elaborate.. please." I said.

"It's the- mmmphh!!" I heard her muffled screams.
