My thoughts were severed when I heard a knock on my office door. "Come in!" I shouted. Rovario came in, his facial expression immediately changing from seriousness to loving and caring, "Hey sis" "Rovi!! I missed you!" He engulfs me in a bear hug. "So what have you been up to big bro?" "Oh you know, just paperwork and stuff. Nothing exciting, just Val joining us for for a board meeting." he says with a smug look on his face. "Ughh!! Why did you have to mention her?" I despise Valentina Mariano with passion, I have had a special kind of hatred towards her since she befriended my little brother Roman. I have not the faintest idea as to why I hate her, there's just something about her that makes me feel uneasy. My parents know very well that I detest her, yet they still put her on the governing board. "Wait... why do you hate her anyway? I thought you would like or at least tolerate each other by now." "Like is a very strong word brother, she just makes me feel uneasy at times." He looks at me with a look I cannot decipher.

We were sitting at dinner when my dad decided to break the silence, "Liyah, I have some news for you, you're going on a mission." "What am I, a spy?" My dad continues as if I never spoke, "And for that mission you'll need a partner", " Let me guess, Rovi or Rome?" Rovario decides to to speak up, "Quite the contrary sis... Should I tell her or do you want to Papa?" "You do the honours Rovi." Rovario responds with that same smug look as earlier and it's concerning. "It's none other than Valentina Mariano." "You're joking right?", I trace Rovario's facial features for any kind of satirical reaction, but I find none. " Why would you do that to me!?" Roman responds, "Why would we be joking? What's wrong with Val?" "There's nothing wrong with her, it's just... you know what never mind." Everyone dismissed the topic for the rest of dinner. When we were finished Rome and I cleared the table, "Big sis, you know you're gonna have to start at least tolerating Val at some point" "Do I really?" He gives me a concerning look, "Liyah, she's been my best friend for years" "But why her though, I could've gone with you or Rovi." He sets down the plate in his hand, "All I'm saying is at least try to keep your animosity towards her at bay... and who knows you might like each other" I fake gag.
