"Come on, we can't leave the toolbox behind," I said, looking at my younger brother.
"Sis, we don't need it! I brought thumbtacks!"
I facepalm immensely, knowing that won't keep our tent steady.
"Ok, tell that to dad, yeah sure your idea is so smart, Mr. Smarty Pants."
I sigh and get my bag of stuff—god, is it heavy! Then, I walk over to the car and shove it in the trunk so everything else can fit.
"I am gonna need a back brace after this."
I walk over to P.C's room, and he is sitting in his room, packing his stuff. He notices me and says, "What's up? I need some help stuffing my backpack in my duffle bag."
I accept and help shove it in, though that bag is gonna burst at any moment. And of course, at any minute now, dad is gonna scream—
"Hurry up P.W, we don't have much time!"
Seriously? Well, I get in the car and wait for everyone to get in. Yes, I have 3 siblings—P.C, E.J, and E.G. Soon enough, they're done packing. The car starts, and I look back at my house, not knowing that the next morning, my life would change.
**(Timeskip: 1 hour)**
P.C: "Can't wait to go fishing, you know how much I love rainbow bass. Did you bring my fishing stuff?"
"Yes, I did. No one can forget that about you, P.C."
A good while passed, and I heard every campfire song in the book while driving there, watching as my familiar hometown passed by and transitioned slowly into the forest. And before I knew it...
P.C: "Sis! We're here! We're finally here!"
E.J: "I hope you get bit by ticks, P.C."
P.C: "Dude, just for saying you can't eat my fish?"
E.J: "Yeah! Fish is the best! By far! Especially rainbow bass... mmmm... the flaky, juicy meat—"
E.G: "I'm telling mom and dad!"
E.J: "What, is mom gonna scream at us in sign language?"
P.C: "Rude! If she heard that, we would get sent to Jesus!"
As they argue, I am setting up my tent, putting my stuff inside, and making sure there are no animals around.
"There, my tent!" I flop down on my cushy sleeping bag and turn on my portable cooling fan since the inside of the tent can get sweaty.
"Ahh... finally, I get to rest..."
I doze off for a bit, meanwhile, chaos is right outside.
E.G: "MOOOOOO—"
E.J: "Shut up! No one cares about a stupid joke!"
P.C: "That wasn't even a good joke, let her tell."
E.G: "THANK YOU P.C! MOOOOOOM! DAAAAAAAAAAAAD! E.J SAID A MEAN THING!!!"
Meanwhile, mom and dad rush over, and after a chaotic afternoon, before we know it, it's bedtime.
P.C: "Hey, we should get to sleep now!"
E.J: "Oh fine, well... tomorrow I'm gonna eat your fish!"
P.C: "Please don't."
E.J: "Fineee."
E.G: "Good night!"
E.J: "Smell you later!"
P.C: "See you!"
I hear all of them go to bed, one by one, and then our parents sleep. I doze off eventually, not knowing this would seal our fates.
(NOTE: Sorry if this is bad I'm 13)
