"Are you sure they will like me? They won't find me weird?" Taylor asked nervously, wringing her hands.
"They will love you Tay, how could they not?"  Travis smiled, finding her anxiousness adorable.

The pair were currently sat in their car outside Travis's mates house, where they were going to spend one of his friends birthdays. Taylor's leg bounced up and down and she bit her nails as Travis parked. He switched off the engine and reached across, taking her hands in his and bringing them to his lips.
"Sorry" Taylor mumbled.
"There's no need to be nervous, they're lovely and they'll love you. How could they not?" Travis smiled at her gently, and she nodded slowly.

He helped her out the car and they walked up the drive together, hand in hand. Travis could sense Taylor's nervousness and as they stopped at the door, Travis turned to face her, holding both her hands in his.
"You'll be fine. They love you, and it will all be okay. And if you want to leave, at any point, just tell me, okay? I love you" he gave her a quick peck on the cheek before ringing the doorbell.

Taylor had been on edge for a while, her anxiety keeping her on her toes. She wasn't sure why she had been so anxious recently but had resorted to carrying a box of her rescue medicine with her wherever she went, just in case.

"Travis! Hey!" One of his friends pulled him roughly in for a side hug.
"And you just be Taylor! Nice to meet you!" he greeted her too.
"Hi" she smiled shyly, still gripping Travis's hand. They were led into the kitchen where at least ten men mingled about, a couple of them having a significant other hanging off of their arm.

Travis went round greeting his friends, leaving Taylor standing in a corner awkwardly. He had told her to go meet some of the other girlfriends of the group, to make some new friends, but Taylor didn't want to. They all looked so intimidating, and had all known each other for so long. She couldn't just butt in there.

Travis noticed her standing so the side, anxiously fiddling with her ring. She looked so nervous, so lonely. He sighed fondly, making his way over to her.

"Tay, why are you here? You not wanting to go and meet some of the other girls?" He asked her. Taylor just shrugged, looking up at him sheepishly.
"Well, some more people are arriving soon, so if you want to meet new people now's your chance" Taylor's stomach dropped at the mention of more people. She wasnt told about this?
"How many more?" She asked, her voice coming out in a squeak.
"I mean- quite a few. This is going to be a full on party- did you not see everything layed out?" Travis was different around his friends; less caring. Taylor didn't like it.

But now that she had gotten a good look around she did see the bowls of snacks, the drinks bar. Her version of hell when she was feeling like this.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. One of Travis's friends went to answer it, and as soon as the front door opened the noise in the house intensified by a lot. Music started playing and the lights were turned off, replaced by disco lights. Taylor hated it.

"You need me to stay here with you?" Travis asked her. Taylor just shook her head, she was probably going to go and find a quiet room to sit in for a little bit the leave when it seemed socially acceptable to do so. And with that, she was left alone. Well, alone as you can be with almost a hundred other people.

It was too crowded as people crashed into her. Someone spilt a drink down her top as as it seeped through her dress it made her shiver. Her hair on the back of her neck was suffocating her and the music was too loud, the lights too bright.

Her breathing quickened as she fought through the crowds, trying to find somewhere calm. She was hyperventilating as she stumbled down the corridor, her vision blurring. She pushed a random door handle, stumbling into the room as the chaotic feeling of the party was shut behind her.

She fell to the floor, scrambling into a corner with her knees up to her chest. Tears fell down her cheeks, hot and fast as she tried to slow her breathing. Her chest felt like it was being squeezed, her lungs on fire.

"Taylor?" Came a voice as the door opened. Travis.
"Oh Taylor" he sighed sympathetically, rushing to her side. Soon enough Taylor's panic attack subsided and she was left in a sobbing heap in Travis's arms.

"Why didnt you come and get me baby?" He whispered into her hair. Taylor shrugged, burying her face into his chest even further.
"Lets go home, yeah?" he decided gently. Taylor nodded, looking up at him with teary eyes.
" I'm sorry baby, I shouldve stayed with you" Travis apologised, using his hands to push the hair back from Taylor's face.
"It's okay" she whispered, her voice hoarse. "I love you"
