Sitting alone in the dim glow of his room, the man's eyes burned with something far darker than desire—it was pure, relentless vengeance. He swirled the whiskey in his glass, the ice clinking softly, but his focus remained fixed on the flickering screen in front of him—on her.
Janni, vulnerable and broken, stood in front of the bathroom mirror, her skin bruised and raw from her desperate attempts to scrub him away. She thought she could erase him. How wrong she was. A dark, twisted smile tugged at his lips.
He took a slow sip of his drink, savoring the bitter burn, his eyes never leaving her trembling form on the screen. "You can scrub yourself raw, Janni, but you'll never be clean of me," he whispered, his voice dripping with venom. "I've marked you—not just your skin, but deep inside. You'll carry me with you forever."
The taste of whiskey only deepened his satisfaction as he leaned back, the ice rattling in the glass. His hatred for her had festered for so long, fueling every dark thought in his twisted mind. "You destroyed everything," he muttered, his voice hardening. "And now, I'm going to take everything from you."
He watched her wrap the towel around her bruised body, her eyes red with tears as she stared at herself in the mirror, lost and broken. His smirk widened. The marks he left on her—those bruises, that fear—they were just the beginning.
""Your taste still lingers on my tongue... His voice lowered, thick with desire. "But it's not enough anymore." His eyes darkened as a wicked smirk tugged at his lips. "My hunger for you burns hotter with each passing moment, and now... it craves more."
"This isn't just revenge anymore," he whispered, his tone growing darker with each word. "This is destruction. I will dismantle you, piece by piece."
He took another slow sip, his fingers tightening around the glass as he imagined her suffering. Her confusion, her tears—they were nothing compared to what he had planned. "I'll devour you, Janni," he hissed, his voice sharp with cruel delight.
"Not just taste you. I'll eat you alive, piece by piece, until there's nothing left. Every scream, every plea—I'll savor it."
A vicious smile spread across his face as his mind raced through the endless ways he'd break her. "You'll beg me to stop, but I won't," he continued, his voice laced with malevolence. "I'll take everything—your peace, your sanity, your very soul. And when I'm done, you won't even recognize yourself in that mirror."
His breath hitched as the thought of her ultimate destruction consumed him. He drained the rest of his whiskey, eyes gleaming with twisted anticipation.
"You have no idea how far I'm willing to go. But you'll find out soon enough. This is only the beginning."
He set the empty glass down with a soft clink, his gaze locked on the screen, watching her despair as if it were his personal entertainment. "Sleep well, Janni," he murmured, a chilling chuckle escaping his lips. "Because soon, you won't sleep at all."
Janni walked slowly to her bed, her body feeling heavy and drained. She slipped under the duvet, pulling it tightly around her as if it could shield her from the memories that refused to leave her alone. Closing her eyes, she hoped for sleep to take her, to offer her an escape, but sleep was nowhere in sight.
Every time her lids shut, his eyes—the cold, vengeful ones—were waiting for her in the darkness. Her heart raced, and the soft rustling of the sheets felt like echoes of his touch. There was no peace, only an endless loop of fear and helplessness.
He closed the laptop with a soft click, the screen fading to black, but her fragile, broken look remained seared in his mind, feeding something dark and hungry inside him. Downing the rest of his whiskey, he felt the burn settle in his chest before rising from his seat.
With steady steps, he approached a heavy crimson door blending into the shadows of the dimly lit room. Pressing his thumb against the panel, a soft beep signaled the door unlocking, recognizing only his fingerprint. He pushed the door open, revealing the room beyond—
His red room.
As he entered, a darker, ominous light spilled from within, casting a bloody glow across the walls. The scent of leather and metal hung in the air as he shut the door behind him with a soft thud.
Meanwhile, Janni had finally fallen asleep, her face still damp from tears, her sobs echoing in her mind. But her peace was shattered when her phone rang, cutting through the silence. She reached for it, squinting at the screen. An unknown number flashed before her eyes.
Nervousness crept in. Who could it be? Her stomach twisted as she hesitated, staring at the phone. Should she answer it?
With trembling fingers, she picked up the call and said, "Hello?" but was met with a long pause on the other end.
Then, a deep male voice broke the silence, slowly saying, "Hello, Janni."
Her eyes widened in shock as recognition washed over her. After four long years, hearing that voice again sent a surge of emotions racing through her mind and heart, flooding her with memories she thought she had buried.
"YOU...?" she whispered, her voice trembling.
Tears streamed down her cheeks as the weight of disbelief crashed over her. "I thought you were dead!" she gasped, each word heavy with longing and pain. "Are you really alive? Where are you?"
A long, agonizing pause lingered on the other end, amplifying the whirlwind of emotions swirling within her.
"I can't tell you anything now, but I'll meet you soon," he promised, urgency lacing his voice.
She nodded, tears streaming down her cheeks as she clutched the phone tightly, feeling the weight of his words sink deep into her heart. He sensed her silent response, the trembling of her breath echoing her emotions.
"Janni," he added softly, "just hold on."
In that moment, despite the fear and uncertainty swirling around her, she felt a flicker of hope ignite within her. This connection, this promise of reunion, was all she had left.
As the call ended, she sat in the silence of her room, heart racing, holding on to a fragile sliver of hope.
