It was a bright Saturday afternoon, and the whole Rafadan Tayfa crew had gathered at Kamil's house to plan their next big adventure. You, Mert, Akın, Kamil, and Hayri sat around a table littered with maps, snacks, and sketches of possible ideas for the day’s escapade."I say we explore the old train yard," Akın suggested, pointing at a spot on the map. "It’s been abandoned for years, and I heard it’s full of hidden tunnels."
Kamil raised an eyebrow. "Hidden tunnels? You’re just making that up. Last time we went there, it was just an empty field."
Hayri, munching loudly on a bag of chips, chimed in. "But what if there are tunnels? Imagine all the snacks we could hide in there! A secret snack storage!"
Everyone burst out laughing, except Mert, who was sitting quietly next to you, clearly deep in thought. You nudged him gently with your elbow. “What’s on your mind, Mert?”
Mert looked up, his eyes brightening as he smiled at you. “Oh, I was just thinking… we could try to fix up one of the old train cars! You know, make it our secret hangout spot.”
“That’s actually a great idea!” you said, excited by the thought. “We could clean it up, maybe even paint it.”
Kamil scratched his chin thoughtfully. “It’s ambitious, but I like it. Let’s do it.”
“Yeah, yeah, let’s go!” Hayri cheered, already on his feet, chips still in hand.
The group set off for the train yard, laughter and conversation filling the air as you walked through the narrow streets of the neighborhood. Mert walked beside you, his usual goofy smile plastered on his face.
When you finally reached the train yard, the sight of the old, rusty train cars sitting on overgrown tracks felt almost magical. The area was quiet, with birds chirping and the occasional breeze stirring the long grass. You spotted one train car that seemed sturdy enough to explore.
“That one looks good!” you pointed, and Mert nodded in agreement.
As the group approached, Akın carefully opened the door, and with a creak, it swung open. Dust filled the air as you all stepped inside. Hayri immediately started investigating, poking around in corners, and Kamil inspected the floorboards to make sure it was safe.
Mert, always the practical one, started talking about how he’d bring his tools the next time to fix the doors and clean the place up. You couldn’t help but smile at his enthusiasm, knowing how excited he got when there was something to fix or work on.
After some exploring, the group took a break, sitting in a circle on the floor of the old train car. Akın and Kamil were discussing plans for decorating it, while Hayri was already daydreaming about all the snacks they could bring on their next trip here.
You leaned back against the wall, feeling the warmth of the sunlight streaming through the broken windows. Mert sat down next to you, close enough that your shoulders were touching. He gave you a shy smile, and you felt your heart flutter just a little.
“You think this place could be our new hideout?” he asked quietly, looking around.
“I think so,” you replied, smiling at him. “Especially if we fix it up like you said.”
Mert’s face lit up at your words. “I’ll get started on it first thing tomorrow.”
You laughed softly, knowing how dedicated he would be to the project. “Of course you will. You always like keeping busy.”
“Well, when it’s for something fun like this—and for you guys—it’s worth it,” he said, his voice a little softer.
You blushed slightly at the way he looked at you, realizing how much he meant it. Without thinking, you leaned in and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Mert’s face immediately turned red as he blinked in surprise.
Before he could say anything, Hayri spotted what happened and dramatically gasped. “Ayy, Y/N, are you kissing people in secret now?!” he teased loudly, making everyone else turn to look.
Kamil chuckled, while Akın raised an eyebrow, amused. “Looks like Mert got more than he bargained for today.”
Mert rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed but grinning widely. “Well, uh… I’m not complaining,” he muttered under his breath, causing you to laugh.
“Hey, let’s not tease Mert too much,” you said, still smiling. “We’ve got work to do on this hideout if it’s going to be ready for next weekend.”
“Y/N is right,” Kamil said, jumping up and clapping his hands. “Next time, we’ll bring paint, tools, and—”
“And snacks!” Hayri interrupted, raising his hands like a cheerleader.
The group erupted into laughter, and soon the teasing was forgotten as you all discussed your plans for turning the old train car into the perfect hideout. As the sun began to set, casting golden light over the train yard, you felt a sense of contentment.
Mert caught your eye again, his smile gentle as he whispered, “Thanks, Y/N. For everything.”
You smiled back, knowing that this new adventure was just one of many to come, and with Mert and your friends by your side, each one would be filled with moments of laughter, affection, and endless fun.
