Rohini's POV:
After the Griha Pravesh, the whole family sat down in the brightly lit living room as a few rituals remained.
The first game was Aditya had to find his name in my mehendi.
"Yaar, where is it?" Aditya whined as he had been looking for it for the past 30 minutes.
"Oh I found it," He beamed in victory as he pointed his name out.
The second game was in a milk container we had to find a ring. It was kind of the best of the three. So we settled down facing each other. All the family members were divided into supporting us.
His Papa and Sister Misha were supporting me along with some distant cousins: Raghav, Arjun, and Pratiksha. Along with their mothers, while all the father and his mother were by his side.
The first round was won by me while the second was won by him. The final round was going on while I took a chance and winked at him taking him by surprise and taking the ring out.
"Bahu rani {daughter-in-law} is going to have an upper hand in marriage," Said his grandma.
"Agar Biwi Rohini jaisi ho toh mujhe koi attraz nahi hai unke issharo pe nachne mein," Aditya said making me blush while the whole family hooted and cheered.
Soon we were sent to our room.
Aditya's POV:
The bedroom was glowing, the soft candlelight casting a warm, golden hue over the flower-laden bed. The air was rich with the scent of roses, marigolds, and jasmine—a blend of tradition and celebration that seemed almost surreal.
I felt like a stranger in my own life, caught in a scene I'd only seen in movies. But here I was, the main character, in a setting straight out of a Bollywood script.
Rohini was standing across the room, looking around, her eyes wide with curiosity—and maybe a little awkwardness. She was stunning in her bridal attire, still draped in deep red, the color highlighting every feature that had stolen my attention over these past few months. She looked at me, and I cleared my throat, scratching the back of my neck.
"Do we, uh... sit down?" she finally asked, and I was flooded with relief.
Thank God she broke the silence.
I chuckled, nodding as I made my way over to the bed. I brushed aside some of the rose petals and sat, careful not to wrinkle the freshly made sheets that were covered in way too many flowers for my liking.
Rohini sat down beside me, leaving just enough space to remind me how new this was for both of us.
I let the silence linger for a moment before I gestured around. "Well, they really went all out, huh? I feel like I just stepped into the climax of a Yash Raj film."
Rohini broke into a small laugh, her shoulders relaxing a bit. "If you're into clichés, then yes. This setup is so dramatic it might as well have theme music."
I grinned. "Not exactly my vibe, but I can see the appeal. So, Mrs. Bollywood Critic," I teased, nudging her gently, "what would you have done differently?"
She narrowed her eyes playfully, considering her response. "For starters, way fewer roses," she said, wrinkling her nose as she flicked a petal off her shoulder. "And... maybe some good lighting. Oh, and tea. Definitely tea."
