A/N Just imagining them singing this to each other is so touchinggg. P.S., I check though all of my stories!
Percy's POV
"What?" I could hardly believe my ears. "There is no way that I am getting married!" I yelled. King Poseidon sighed, face-palming himself while Queen Sally grimaced. "Son, we don't really have a choice! The kingdom of Athens, which is almost five times as powerful as us, is on the verge of war with us!"
"But- but-" I stammered. Poseidon held up a hand, signaling for me to fall silent. I huffed and whipped my head around, arms crossed. "I personally think that she isn't that bad, just... intense." Sally tried to reassure me but to no avail. "We are already dealing with rebels and assassins. Do you really want us to be fighting a war in the midst of all this? Atlantis is unstable enough, what with Queen Bellona of New Rome trying to dethrone me." Poseidon asked wearily. I still ignored my parents, though guilt was gnawing at my heart.
"Fineeeeeee... when am I going to meet her?" I groaned. "Right... about... now." Poseidon gestured towards the huge castle room doors. Almost on cue, the doors opened. My breath was caught in his throat when I saw the stunning girl who had entered. Her blonde, curly hair was curled around her face, framing it, while her stormy, gray eyes flashed dangerously. Her gown, white with a sash of blue butterflies across her waist (SGE anyone?), fitted her body perfectly, emphasizing her curves. Snap out of it! I slapped himself mentally. She glared at me before smiling up at Poseidon and Sally. "Your majesties," she curtsied elegantly while I found myself staring again.
"Ah, Princess Annabeth. It is so nice to meet you!" Sally hurried down from the throne and shook her hand. Her gold earrings flashed under the bright light of the throne room while she nodded. "Likewise," she replied before scanning the throne room. When her eyes fell on me, they seemed to narrow before she averted her gaze.
Annabeth's POV
Well, what do you know? The prince of Atlantis was quite hot. I thought as I sneaked glances at Percy. His sea-green eyes sparkled as he tried- and failed- to straighten his blue tie. His windswept hair was unruly, yet made him look handsome. I could see the outline of his muscles through his suit, which nearly made me grin. What's wrong with me today? I wondered, tearing my eyes away from him. I was the princess of one of the most powerful kingdoms ever, for gods' sake!
"So, we would like both of you to have plenty of time to get to know each other. Annabeth, you will be joining Percy for his physical training sessions, including fighting with weapons, and Percy, you will be practising flexibility and agility with Annabeth. Annabeth, you will also have to get to know Percy's friends and both of you will eat and sleep together. Any questions?" Sally beamed.
I gaped before shutting my mouth, realising that I looked undignified. "In the same... room?" I squeaked. Poseidon answered with a smirk, "Of course not, Princess Annabeth!" I breathed a sigh of relief before freezing at his next words. "In the same bed!"
Percy's mouth was hung open, as was mine. I could not care less about how awful I looked when we chimed in unison, "What?"
"Aw, look, dear! They're so cute, already talking at the same time with perfect synchronization!" Sally squealed. I inhaled deeply before nodding to Sally and Poseidon. Percy bowed stiffly as we exited the throne room. "So, Annabeth... What is your favourite colour? What are your hobbies and when is your birthday?" I started, realising that he was talking to me. "I like lavendar and gray, I absolutely adore reading and my birthday is on July 12th. (Hope I got it right!) What about you?"
While we continued walking, Percy's eyes lit up as he responded, "I love blue. Blue cupcakes, blue pancakes, anything that is blue! I love swimming and my birthday is on August 18th." I nodded before questioning, "Do you enjoy reading?" Percy's face contorted to an expression of disgust as he shook his head vigorously. "No way on Earth! Urgh, reading is so boring! I can't help it that I'm not a nerd like you! At least I know that the Earth is flat!"
I stared blankly at him before asking incredulously, "The Earth... is flat? Have you been living under a rock? A Roman philosopher and scholar discovered that the earth is round, but people back then were disbelieving, saying "Nah, the earth is flat!" However, there were some adventure junkies who thought it would be fun to actually find out if that Roman was correct. Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastián Elcano are the adventurers I'm talking about. What these badass sailors basically wanted to do was circumnavigate the globe and determine for themselves if the round earth theory was correct..." I stopped talking when I realised that Percy was yawning. I fumed silently.
"Uh huh, I would definitely need to use those information in my daily life." Percy frowned, clearly annoyed by my explanation. My cheeks burned as I retorted, stopping in my tracks, "At least I'm not a- a Seaweed Brain like you!" Percy raised an eyebrow, which was undeniably hot- WAIT WHAT? ARGH!
"Yeah well, you're a... a Wise Girl!" Percy exclaimed, throwing his hands up as I caught up to him to math his pace. I crossed my arms and sneered. "Really? Wise Girl is a compliment, not an insult!" Percy pouted and sighed. "Fine, fine you win, alright? Princess, my ass!" I huffed as we entered the arena of the castle. "Wow!" I exclaimed, uncrossing my arms.
